Filler Dissolving in Busan
#FillerSideEffectCare · #OverfilledCorrection · #Hyaluronidase · #QuickCorrection
Filler dissolving uses an enzyme called hyaluronidase to break down hyaluronic acid filler in the skin. It is a quick way to correct filler that looks overdone, lumpy or uneven, or that feels uncomfortable.
Quick answer: Filler dissolving is an injection of hyaluronidase, an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid (HA) filler so the body can absorb it. At Art of Shine Clinic in Seomyeon, Busan, it takes about 10–15 minutes, usually without numbing, and you can return to daily life immediately. Changes often appear within hours to a few days; the area is reassessed after about 2 weeks.

What is Filler Dissolving?
Hyaluronidase is an enzyme that breaks the bonds holding hyaluronic acid gel together. Once injected into the area, it softens and dissolves HA filler so the body can clear it, usually within hours to a few days. It works only on hyaluronic acid filler; it does not dissolve collagen stimulators such as calcium hydroxylapatite or PLLA-based products.
People choose filler dissolving at Art of Shine Clinic to correct overfilled lips or under-eyes, lumps, migration or asymmetry, or to start fresh before a new treatment such as Aegyo-sal Filler or Nose Filler. Very rarely it is also used urgently when filler affects blood flow.
How Filler Dissolving works
The doctor injects hyaluronidase directly into the unwanted filler. The enzyme breaks the hyaluronic acid down into small fragments that the body absorbs naturally.
- Consultation: your doctor examines the area, asks what filler was used and when, and plans how much enzyme is needed.
- Injection: small amounts of hyaluronidase are injected into the filler with a fine needle; it takes about 10–15 minutes.
- After: the area softens over hours to days; it is reassessed after about 2 weeks before any new filler is added.
Why patients choose Filler Dissolving
- Targets HA filler — hyaluronidase breaks down hyaluronic acid gel.
- Corrects overfilling and lumps — smooths uneven or migrated filler.
- Fast-acting — changes are often visible within days.
- A fresh start — clears the way for a better-planned treatment.
Who is Filler Dissolving for — and when we suggest something else
Good candidates
- Your hyaluronic acid filler looks overdone, heavy or puffy.
- You have lumps, ridges or visible filler under thin skin.
- Filler has spread beyond the area you wanted, such as above the lip line.
- Your face looks uneven after filler and you want a reset.
- You want to start fresh before a different filler or treatment plan.
- You know which product you had, or can find out from your previous clinic.
We may suggest something else if…
- Your filler was not hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronidase does not dissolve products such as Radiesse or PLLA, so another plan is needed.
- The issue is mild swelling within the first two weeks of filler. We usually wait, as this often settles.
- You simply want more lift rather than less volume. Ulthera or Jamber Threads may address sagging better.
- You have a known allergy to hyaluronidase or bee or wasp stings. Dr. Park discusses whether it is safe.
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding, unless there is an urgent medical reason. We generally postpone elective dissolving.
What happens at your Filler Dissolving session in Seomyeon
- Message us on WhatsApp first. Send close-up photos of the area and tell us when and where the filler was done. Include the product name if you know it.
- Consultation with Dr. Park. She examines the lump or area, confirms it is likely HA filler and checks for allergies. You agree together how much to dissolve.
- Preparation & numbing. No separate anaesthesia is usually needed. The skin is cleansed, and Dr. Park may do a small test if allergy is a concern.
- The treatment. Injection takes about 10–15 minutes. You may feel a sting and brief burning as the enzyme goes in.
- Out the door & follow-up. You can return to daily life immediately. Change is often visible within days, and Dr. Park reassesses after about 2 weeks if needed.
How Dr. Park plans your Filler Dissolving treatment
Dissolving is about precision, not just removal. Dr. Park targets the enzyme at the lump or overfilled area, so filler you are happy with can often stay. Small, staged amounts reduce the risk of taking away more than you want.
There is no fixed dissolving package on our price list. The amount depends on the area, the product and how long ago it was placed. Older or denser filler may need more than one session.
If a second session is needed, it is usually decided after about 2 weeks. New filler is generally planned only once the area has settled. That gap lets Dr. Park see your true baseline before adding anything back.
Filler Dissolving results: what to expect and when
- Within hours: the filler begins to soften; there may be mild swelling.
- Days 1–3: most of the unwanted filler is broken down and absorbed.
- Week 2: the area is reassessed; a second session is done only if needed.
- After that: new filler, if wanted, can be planned once the area has settled.
Side effects, risks and who should avoid Filler Dissolving
Filler dissolving is generally well tolerated when performed by a doctor. Possible side effects include:
- Swelling, redness, itching or bruising at the injection site (usually settles within a few days)
- Some of your own natural volume may look reduced for a short time
- Uneven dissolving that may need a second session
- Rarely, an allergic reaction to hyaluronidase
Not suitable if you: are allergic to hyaluronidase; have had a reaction to bee or wasp stings; are pregnant or breastfeeding; or have an active infection in the area. Tell your doctor about all medications and what filler was used, as hyaluronidase does not dissolve non-HA fillers.
Filler Dissolving vs waiting it out or adding filler: which should you choose?
Not every filler problem needs dissolving, so it helps to compare the options.
| Treatment | How it works | Best for | Downtime | Results last |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Filler Dissolving | Hyaluronidase breaks down HA filler | Lumps, overfilling, migration, asymmetry | None; mild swelling possible | Change appears quickly; varies by area |
| Waiting | HA filler slowly breaks down naturally | Mild early swelling or tiny unevenness | None | Filler fades over months |
| Adding filler | More HA gel to balance the other side | Small under-correction, not overfilling | Mild swelling possible | About 6–12 months |
Choose dissolving if filler is too much, lumpy or in the wrong place. Choose waiting if it is only early swelling. Choose adding filler only if one side is simply under-filled; Dr. Park will tell you which applies.

Downtime after Filler Dissolving, and flying home
There is no real downtime after filler dissolving. In the first 24–72 hours, the area may be a little swollen, red or tender. Some people notice the area looks flat at first while swelling and old filler clear. You can go sightseeing the same day. Avoid saunas, jjimjilbang, hot baths, strenuous exercise and alcohol on the day, and do not massage the area firmly.
Makeup can usually go back on once the injection points have closed. Allergic reactions to hyaluronidase are uncommon but can happen, so tell us straight away about spreading redness, itching or swelling. Let Dr. Park know your flight date; treating early in your trip leaves time for a 2-week review if you can stay. See our aftercare tips for travellers.

Will filler dissolving also remove my natural fat or collagen?
No. Hyaluronidase acts on hyaluronic acid gel. It does not dissolve fat, muscle or the collagen in your skin.
Your skin also contains natural hyaluronic acid, which the enzyme can affect briefly. The body replaces this over a short time. Some people feel the area looks a little hollow just after dissolving. This is usually because swelling and filler have gone at once, not because tissue was removed. Dr. Park reviews the area after it settles before suggesting any new filler.
Why do I need a second filler dissolving session?
A second session is needed when some filler remains after the first. This happens more with older, denser or heavily cross-linked gels.
Dr. Park often uses a measured amount first rather than a large dose. That protects filler you are happy with and reduces swelling. After about 2 weeks the result is clearer, and she can see whether more is needed. If you are only in Busan briefly, tell her your dates, because she may plan the first session differently.
How soon can I get new filler after dissolving?
Most doctors prefer to wait until the area has fully settled, often around two weeks. That lets the enzyme finish working and swelling go down.
Injecting too early can make the result hard to judge and may waste new filler. Dr. Park assesses the area again before planning. Your goal may be a different product, such as Restylane or Juvederm. She will discuss which suits the area once the old filler has cleared. Waiting also means you pay only for the filler you actually need.
Can you dissolve filler that another clinic injected?
Yes, if it is hyaluronic acid filler. Where it was done does not change how hyaluronidase works.
Knowing the product name helps, because non-HA fillers do not respond to the enzyme. If you are not sure, ask your previous clinic before your visit. Dr. Park will examine the area and explain what she thinks is present. Sudden pain or skin colour change soon after filler is urgent and should be seen at once. If you travel home soon, a nearby doctor can review you.
