MINT Threads in Busan
#CogThreadLift · #SaggingCare · #FaceLine · #FirmingLift
MINT threads are dissolvable cog threads that lift and anchor sagging tissue. As well as lifting, they encourage collagen production to define the face line and improve firmness.
Quick answer: MINT threads are dissolvable cog threads with small barbs that grip and lift sagging tissue in the cheeks, jowls and jawline while stimulating collagen. At Art of Shine Clinic in Seomyeon, Busan, treatment takes about 20–30 minutes under local anaesthetic, with mild tightness and swelling for 2–3 days. Results usually last about 6–12 months. Prices start from KRW 290,000 for four threads (excl. 10% VAT).

What is MINT Threads?
Cog threads have tiny barbs along their length. Once placed under the skin, the barbs catch the soft tissue so it can be lifted and held in a new position. Over the following weeks, the body forms collagen around the threads, which helps firm the area as they slowly dissolve.
MINT threads at Art of Shine Clinic are used for the cheeks, jowls, jawline and forehead, and are often paired with fine Mono Threads or Jamber Threads. For lifting without threads, energy-based options such as Ulthera are an alternative.
How MINT Threads works
Barbed cog threads are inserted under the skin along lifting vectors. The barbs anchor and reposition sagging tissue, and new collagen forms around the threads as they dissolve.
- Consultation: your doctor assesses sagging and plans how many threads are needed and in which direction.
- Thread insertion: after local anaesthetic, cog threads are placed through small entry points and the tissue is lifted, in about 20–30 minutes.
- After: tightness and mild swelling are normal for a few days; follow the aftercare advice while the threads settle.
Why patients choose MINT Threads
- Firm lift — the cog structure anchors sagging tissue.
- Lift plus collagen — firmness improves as the threads dissolve.
- Defined face line — sharper cheeks, jowls and jawline.
- No surgery — small entry points and short recovery.
Who is MINT Threads for — and when we suggest something else
Good candidates
- Your cheeks, jowls or jawline have started to sag.
- You want a more defined lower face without surgery.
- You want lift and collagen stimulation in one treatment.
- You have enough skin and tissue for cog threads to grip.
- You can follow 3–4 weeks of no massage and careful sleeping.
We may suggest something else if…
- Your skin is very thin with little sagging. Mono Threads may give better texture without lift.
- You do not want needles or entry points. Ulthera or OligioX tightens with energy.
- Your jawline looks wide from muscle, not sagging. Botox may suit better.
- Sagging is advanced with heavy, loose skin. A surgical opinion may be more realistic.
- You have an infection, autoimmune flare, bleeding disorder, or are pregnant or breastfeeding. We postpone.
What happens at your MINT Threads session in Seomyeon
- Message us on WhatsApp first. Send front and three-quarter photos in good light. List your concerns, past threads or filler, and your flight date.
- Consultation with Dr. Park. She checks sagging, skin thickness and fat distribution while you sit up. She explains thread number and lifting directions.
- Preparation & numbing. Local anaesthetic is placed along the thread paths. Entry points and vectors are marked on your skin.
- The treatment. Placement takes about 20–30 minutes. You feel pressure and pulling, and the lift is visible right away.
- Out the door & follow-up. Expect mild tightness and swelling for 2–3 days. Message us if pain increases, dimpling persists or a thread end shows.
How Dr. Park plans your MINT Threads treatment
MINT threads have small cogs that grip tissue. Dr. Park plans lifting vectors so each thread pulls in a direction that suits your face. Areas include the cheeks, jowls, jawline and forehead.
Thread number depends on how much lift you need. Listed options include MINT Thread Lift – 4 Threads and 12 Threads, and a Forehead Thread Lift: 10 Threads. The Full-Face Thread Lift uses 10 MINT Threads with 30 MINT Mono Threads. The Jowl Mini Lift adds 2 JAMBER Threads and Philos Designed Filler 1cc to 6 MINT Threads.
She avoids over-pulling, which can look tight or create dimples. Repeat treatment is usually every 6–12 months, as threads dissolve and collagen remains.
MINT Threads results: what to expect and when
- Immediately: a lifted contour is visible, with some tightness or small dimples.
- Days 2–7: swelling and tightness ease and the face settles into a more natural line.
- Weeks 4–12: collagen forms around the threads, gradually improving firmness.
- Months 6–12: the threads slowly dissolve and the effect fades; how long it lasts varies by person.
Side effects, risks and who should avoid MINT Threads
Thread lifting is generally well tolerated when performed by a doctor. Possible side effects include:
- Swelling, bruising, tenderness and a tight feeling for several days
- Small dimples, puckering or slight asymmetry, which usually settle as swelling goes down
- Discomfort when opening the mouth wide or chewing for 1–2 weeks
- Rarely, a thread you can feel or see under the skin, thread exposure or infection, which may need removal or treatment
Not suitable if you: are pregnant or breastfeeding; have an active skin infection or inflammation in the area; have a bleeding disorder or take blood thinners that cannot be paused safely; have an active autoimmune condition; or tend to form keloid scars. Tell your doctor about all medications and any previous threads or fillers in the area.
MINT Threads vs Jamber Threads, Mono Threads and Ulthera: which should you choose?
These options suit different degrees of sagging and different comfort levels with needles.
| Treatment | How it works | Best for | Downtime | Results last |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| MINT Threads | Dissolvable cog threads grip and lift tissue | Cheeks, jowls, jawline, forehead | Tightness and swelling 2–3 days | About 6–12 months |
| Jamber Threads | Dissolvable lifting threads planned to sagging | Mild to moderate sagging, folds | Tightness and swelling 2–3 days | About 6–12 months |
| Mono Threads | Smooth threads stimulate collagen | Elasticity and texture | Tightness and swelling 2–3 days | About 6–12 months |
| Ulthera | Focused ultrasound tightens deep layers | Tightening without needles | None | About 6–12 months |
Choose MINT for firm, visible lift. Choose Jamber for tailored lift of milder sagging. Choose Ulthera if you prefer no needles; many people combine threads with energy treatments over time.

Downtime after MINT Threads, and flying home
The first 24–72 hours bring tightness, swelling and sometimes bruising or small dimples. Chewing, yawning and wide smiles may feel stiff. Gentle sightseeing is fine, but choose soft foods. Avoid saunas, jjimjilbang, hot baths, strenuous exercise and alcohol on the day. Keep makeup off entry points until they close.
Avoid opening your mouth wide or chewing hard foods for 1–2 weeks. Skip massage and firm pressure for about 3–4 weeks, and avoid sleeping face-down or on your side. Tell Dr. Park your flight date; a thread lift early in your stay allows a check. Read our aftercare tips for travellers.

How many MINT threads do I need for my jawline?
Most jawline plans use several threads per side. The number depends on how much the jowl sags and how heavy the tissue is.
Our listed options include 4 and 12 thread lifts, and a Jowl Mini Lift with 6 MINT threads plus Jamber threads and filler. Dr. Park counts threads only after examining you upright. If your jaw looks wide from muscle rather than sagging, she may suggest Botox instead or as well. Ask her to explain the plan for each side.
Will I see dimples or bumps after a MINT thread lift?
Small dimples or bumps can appear in the first days, especially when you move your face. Many settle as swelling goes down.
They happen when the cogs grip tissue unevenly or near an entry point. Follow aftercare closely: soft foods, no wide mouth opening and no massage. Contact us if a dimple is still obvious after a week or two, or a thread end is visible. A hot, painful area also needs review. Gentle care in the first two weeks helps prevent these.
Can I combine MINT threads with Ulthera or Thermage?
Many people use both over time, because threads lift while energy devices tighten. The timing between them matters.
Heat-based devices are usually not done over fresh threads. Dr. Park may suggest the energy treatment first, or a gap after threads. Options include Ulthera and Thermage FLX. Tell her your travel dates so she can plan a safe order within your stay. Spacing treatments also lets each one settle so you can judge results clearly. If your stay is short, she may suggest one treatment now and another on a future trip.
MINT Threads FAQ
How much does a MINT thread lift cost in Busan?
At Art of Shine Clinic in Seomyeon, a MINT thread lift with 4 threads is KRW 290,000 and 12 threads is KRW 790,000 in the Autumn Event, excluding 10% VAT. Full-face and jowl packages are also available.
Does a MINT thread lift hurt?
Local anaesthetic is used, so you mainly feel pressure and pulling. The treatment takes about 20–30 minutes. Soreness and tightness, especially when chewing or opening the mouth wide, are normal for several days and ease gradually.
How long do MINT threads last?
Results usually last about 6–12 months, depending on the number of threads, the area and your skin. Collagen built around the threads helps the effect last after they dissolve, and many patients repeat treatment every 6–12 months.
Can I fly or go sightseeing after a MINT thread lift?
You can go about your day, but expect tightness and mild swelling for 2–3 days. Avoid wide mouth opening, hard foods, saunas and alcohol. Tell your doctor if you are flying soon after treatment.
MINT threads vs mono threads: what is the difference?
MINT cog threads have barbs that grip and lift sagging tissue. Mono threads are smooth and mainly improve elasticity and texture rather than lifting. They are often combined for lift and skin quality together.
Who performs MINT thread lifts at Art of Shine Clinic?
Dr. Park Yoon-soo, our Head Director, plans and places your threads herself. She graduated from Kyungpook National University School of Medicine and interned at Asan Medical Center.
Do foreign patients pay the same listed price?
Our listed prices are in KRW and exclude 10% VAT. Payment is made at the clinic on the day. Autumn Event prices change, so confirm the current price on WhatsApp first.
Do I need a consultation before a MINT thread lift?
Yes. Dr. Park examines your face and medical history before planning threads. Message us on WhatsApp to arrange a time; we are closed on Sundays.
