What is Thermage FLX?

Thermage FLX is the latest generation of the Thermage system from Solta Medical in the USA. It uses monopolar RF to heat the deep dermis evenly, while the tip cools the skin surface and adds vibration for comfort. The heat tightens collagen fibres and starts a remodelling process that continues for months.

It is used on the full face, jawline, neck and eye area for firmness and crepey texture. Treatment is counted in shots (for example 600 or 900). OligioX and Alltite are other RF options, and Thermage FLX is often combined with focused ultrasound such as Ulthera.

How Thermage FLX works

Monopolar RF energy heats the deep dermis while the skin surface is cooled. Collagen fibres contract at once, and remodelling over the next 2–6 months gradually firms and smooths the skin.

1. Consultation: your doctor assesses your skin and plans the areas and number of shots.
2. Treatment: after numbing cream, the tip is applied across a marked grid, pulse by pulse, for about 30–60 minutes.
3. After: mild redness fades quickly, and you can carry on with your day.

What happens at your Thermage FLX session in Seomyeon

1. Message us on WhatsApp first. Tell us the areas you want treated and your budget. Send a photo in daylight, and let us know about any implants or recent procedures.
2. Consultation with Dr. Park. She assesses skin thickness, laxity and texture, and decides how many shots each zone needs.
3. Preparation and numbing. Numbing cream is applied for about 30 minutes. A temporary grid is then marked on the skin to guide even treatment.
4. The treatment. The tip is applied pulse by pulse over about 30–60 minutes. Each pulse brings a short burst of deep heat, eased by cooling and vibration.
5. Out the door and follow-up. There is no downtime. Firming builds over 2–6 months, so send us a photo on WhatsApp at about three months.

How Dr. Park plans your Thermage FLX treatment

Shots per zone

Thermage FLX is counted in shots. Our packages use 600 or 900 shots. Dr. Park divides them between the cheeks, jawline, under the chin and forehead. More passes go where skin is loosest.

Eye and neck

The eye area and neck have thinner skin, so energy and shot placement are adjusted. One package adds Eye SHURINK 200 shots for deeper support around the eyes. That combines RF on the skin with ultrasound beneath.

One session, then maintenance

Most people have a single session and repeat it every 6–12 months. Energy is set to what you can tolerate rather than the highest setting. Packages may add skin Botox, Rejuran Healer 2cc or LDM care to improve skin quality alongside firming.

Thermage FLX results: what to expect and when

• Right after treatment: skin may feel slightly tighter and look smoother.
• Months 2–3: collagen remodelling makes skin progressively firmer.
• Around month 6: the result usually reaches its peak.
• Months 6–12: results gradually fade with ageing; repeat every 6–12 months.
• Please note: results and timing vary by person.

Side effects, risks and who should avoid Thermage FLX

Thermage FLX is generally well tolerated when performed by a doctor. Possible side effects include:

• Redness, warmth or mild swelling (usually settles within hours to a day or two)
• Temporary tenderness
• Rarely, burns, blisters, temporary surface irregularities or small areas of fat loss

Not suitable if you: have a pacemaker or other implanted electronic device; have metal implants in the treatment area; are pregnant; have an active skin infection, open wound or cold sore in the area; or tend to form keloid scars. Tell your doctor about recent fillers, threads or other procedures in the area.

Aftercare after Thermage FLX

• Redness or warmth right after treatment is normal and usually fades within a few days.
• On the day of treatment, avoid saunas, hot baths, strenuous exercise and alcohol.
• Apply sunscreen carefully for 1–2 weeks after treatment.
• Do not scratch or rub the treated area.
• Keep your skin well moisturised to help it settle.

Downtime after Thermage FLX, and flying home

Your face may look flushed for a few hours, and the grid marks wash off. Some people feel mild tenderness or slight swelling for a day or so. You can go out for dinner or sightseeing the same evening. Avoid the sauna, jjimjilbang, hot baths, alcohol and hard exercise on the day.

Can I combine Thermage and Ulthera on the same day?

Yes, and it is a common pairing. Thermage FLX heats the skin itself, while Ulthera works on the deeper SMAS layer. Doing both treats skin quality and sagging together, so the result can look more complete.

Our premium package combines Ulthera 300 shots and Thermage 600 shots with full-face skin Botox and stem cells. Dr. Park adjusts the energy of each device when they are combined. The session is longer, and you may feel more tenderness for a day or two. Plan it at the start of your trip, not the day before an event.

Why does Thermage FLX take months to show results?

Because the main effect comes from collagen remodelling, which is slow. Some tightening can be felt right away as collagen fibres contract. The bigger change builds over about 2–6 months as new collagen forms.

This is why judging Thermage after a week is too early. Take a photo before treatment, then compare at about three months in the same light. Results vary with age, skin thickness and lifestyle. Smoking and strong sun exposure can weaken the effect, so daily sunscreen helps protect it.

Can two people share a Thermage 900-shot package?

Yes. Our Thermage 900 shots plus full-face skin Botox package is listed as shareable by two people. This can make it more affordable for couples, friends or family travelling together.

Each person still needs their own consultation. Dr. Park decides how to split the shots based on each face. One person may need more shots than the other, and the split may not be equal. Book both people for the same day on WhatsApp, and tell us in advance that you want to share. Prices exclude 10% VAT.
