Mono Threads in Busan
#DissolvableThreads · #ElasticityCare · #CollagenBoost · #TextureCare
Mono threads are smooth, dissolvable threads placed in the skin to improve firmness and texture. As they dissolve, they stimulate collagen and build a firmer skin foundation.
Quick answer: Mono threads are fine, smooth dissolvable threads inserted into the skin in a mesh pattern to stimulate collagen and improve firmness and texture, rather than to lift. At Art of Shine Clinic in Seomyeon, Busan, treatment takes about 20–30 minutes under local anaesthetic, with mild tightness and swelling for 2–3 days. Results usually last about 6–12 months. Packages start from KRW 190,000 (excl. 10% VAT).

What is Mono Threads?
Mono threads have no barbs. Many short, fine threads are placed just under the skin, often in a criss-cross pattern. As the body responds to them, new collagen forms around each thread, gradually tightening and thickening the skin while the threads dissolve.
Because they do not lift on their own, mono threads are often combined with cog threads such as MINT Threads or Jamber Threads for lift, or with filler for deeper folds. Art of Shine Clinic includes them in several lifting packages.
How Mono Threads works
Fine smooth threads are placed under the skin in a mesh pattern. Over the following weeks the body builds collagen around them, improving elasticity and texture as they dissolve.
- Consultation: your doctor assesses skin laxity and texture and plans where to place the threads.
- Thread insertion: after local anaesthetic, fine threads are placed with thin needles in about 20–30 minutes.
- After: mild tightness and swelling settle over a few days; follow the aftercare advice.
Why patients choose Mono Threads
- Smooth dissolvable threads — fine threads with no barbs.
- Collagen stimulation — builds firmness gradually.
- Elasticity and texture — improves skin quality over weeks.
- Combines well — pairs with cog threads or filler.
Who is Mono Threads for — and when we suggest something else
Good candidates
- Your skin feels less firm and looks crepey in places.
- You want better elasticity and texture rather than a strong lift.
- You have fine lines around the cheeks, under-jaw or nasolabial area.
- You are already planning cog threads or filler and want extra skin support.
- You can avoid hard foods, massage and side-sleeping for a short while.
We may suggest something else if…
- You want visible lift of sagging cheeks or jowls. MINT Threads anchors tissue; mono threads alone do not lift.
- You prefer injections without threads for skin quality. Rejuran Healer or Juvelook Skin may suit you.
- Your main concern is a deep fold from volume loss. Wrinkle Filler fills it more directly.
- You want no needles at all. Thermage FLX tightens with energy.
- You have a skin infection, bleeding disorder, or are pregnant or breastfeeding. We postpone treatment.
What happens at your Mono Threads session in Seomyeon
- Message us on WhatsApp first. Send photos of the areas you want to firm up. Mention any past threads, filler or booster and your travel dates.
- Consultation with Dr. Park. She checks skin thickness, laxity and texture. She explains whether mono threads alone suit you or should be combined.
- Preparation & numbing. Local anaesthetic is used to keep you comfortable. The treatment zones are marked.
- The treatment. Placement takes about 20–30 minutes. You feel pressure and small pricks as fine threads go in.
- Out the door & follow-up. Mild tightness and swelling last 2–3 days. Message us if bumps, redness or discomfort persist.
How Dr. Park plans your Mono Threads treatment
Mono threads are smooth and fine. Dr. Park places many of them in a mesh-like pattern just under the skin. As they dissolve, collagen forms around each one.
Thread number depends on the area size. Listed options range from 10 MINT Mono Threads in a nasolabial package to MINT Mono Threads: 100 Threads. The Nasolabial Fold Mini Lift uses 4 MINT Mono Threads with 4 JAMBER Threads and Designed Filler 2cc. The Full-Face Thread Lift pairs 30 MINT Mono Threads with 10 MINT Threads.
She places threads evenly so the skin firms smoothly. Repeat treatment is usually every 6–12 months, often alongside cog threads or filler.
Mono Threads results: what to expect and when
- Immediately: little visible change, with mild swelling or tightness.
- Days 2–7: swelling and any bruising settle.
- Weeks 4–12: collagen builds around the threads and skin feels firmer.
- Months 6–12: the threads dissolve and the effect gradually fades; this varies by person.
Side effects, risks and who should avoid Mono Threads
Thread lifting is generally well tolerated when performed by a doctor. Possible side effects include:
- Swelling, bruising, tenderness and a tight feeling for a few days
- Small bumps or slight unevenness, which usually settle
- Rarely, a thread you can feel or see under the skin, which may need removal
- Rarely, infection, which needs prompt treatment
Not suitable if you: are pregnant or breastfeeding; have an active skin infection or inflammation in the area; have a bleeding disorder or take blood thinners that cannot be paused safely; have an active autoimmune condition; or tend to form keloid scars. Tell your doctor about all medications and any previous threads or fillers in the area.
Mono Threads vs MINT Threads and Rejuran Healer: which should you choose?
Mono threads sit between lifting threads and injectable skin boosters.
| Treatment | How it works | Best for | Downtime | Results last |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mono Threads | Smooth dissolvable threads stimulate collagen | Elasticity, texture, fine crepiness | Tightness and swelling 2–3 days | About 6–12 months |
| MINT Threads | Cog threads grip and lift tissue | Visible sagging of cheeks or jowls | Tightness and swelling 2–3 days | About 6–12 months |
| Rejuran Healer | Injected PN booster supports skin repair | Skin quality, fine lines, thin skin | Mild swelling or needle marks 1–2 days | Varies; 3+ sessions recommended |
Choose mono threads for firmer skin in one session. Choose MINT threads if you need real lift. Choose Rejuran Healer if you prefer a series of injections for overall skin quality.

Do mono threads actually lift the face?
Not in the way cog threads do. Mono threads have no barbs, so they cannot pull tissue upward.
Their role is to stimulate collagen, which gradually improves firmness and texture. Some people notice skin looks tighter, but it is not a lift. For visible lifting, Dr. Park combines them with MINT Threads or Jamber Threads. If you are mainly bothered by sagging, mono threads alone will probably disappoint you. Many people who want a lift choose a combined plan from the start.
Why are so many mono threads used in one session?
Each mono thread is short and fine, and it affects only a small strip of skin. Many are needed to cover an area evenly.
That is why our listed options run from 10 threads to 100 threads. A small area like the nasolabial fold needs fewer. A full face needs many more. Dr. Park plans the pattern so collagen builds evenly. Ask her how many she recommends for your area and why. More threads are not always better; even coverage matters more than a high number.
When will I see results from mono threads?
Results build gradually rather than appearing at once. Collagen forms over the weeks after treatment as the threads dissolve.
Early on, swelling can make skin look tighter than the final result. As it settles, firmness and texture improve slowly. Results usually last about 6–12 months and vary by person. Combining with cog threads or filler gives a more immediate change if you need one before a trip. Protecting the area from heat and pressure early on helps healing. Follow-up photos at a few weeks can help you notice gradual changes.
Mono Threads FAQ
How much do mono threads cost in Busan?
At Art of Shine Clinic in Seomyeon, nasolabial fold filler 2cc plus Botox and 10 MINT mono threads is KRW 190,000, and 100 mono threads are KRW 690,000, excluding 10% VAT.
Do mono threads hurt?
Local anaesthetic is used, so most people feel only pressure and small pricks. The treatment takes about 20–30 minutes, with some tenderness and tightness for a few days afterwards that eases gradually on its own.
How long do mono threads last?
Results usually last about 6–12 months. The threads dissolve over several months, while the collagen they stimulate helps keep skin firmer. Many people repeat treatment every 6–12 months, or combine it with cog threads or filler.
Can I fly or go sightseeing after mono threads?
You can usually continue your day, but expect mild swelling or tightness for 2–3 days. Avoid saunas, alcohol, facial massage and hard foods as advised. Mention any flights during your consultation.
Do mono threads lift the face?
Not on their own. Mono threads are smooth and mainly improve elasticity and texture. For visible lifting, doctors use barbed cog threads such as MINT threads, and often combine both types.
Who performs mono thread treatments at Art of Shine Clinic?
Dr. Park Yoon-soo, our Head Director, places your threads herself. She trained at Kyungpook National University School of Medicine and completed her internship at Asan Medical Center.
Do foreign patients pay the same listed price?
Our prices are in KRW and exclude 10% VAT, and payment is made at the clinic on the day. Package prices change, so check the current price on WhatsApp before your visit.
Do I need a consultation before mono threads?
