Contour injections are lipolytic (fat-dissolving) injections placed into the fat layer of specific areas, typically the cheeks, under the chin, the jowls and along the jaw. How Contour Injection works

The solution is injected into the fat layer, where it acts on fat cells; the body gradually clears the treated fat over the following weeks. Because each session treats a modest amount, results build over a course.

• Your skin is loose and sagging rather than full. A device such as Shurink Universe or Ulthera lifts rather than slims.
• Your cheeks look hollow, not full. Volume, for example from a filler such as Juvederm, may suit you better than slimming.
• You are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have an infection in the area. We advise waiting until later.

What happens at your Contour Injection session in Seomyeon

1. Message us on WhatsApp first. Tell us which areas look full, how long you are staying, and whether you are interested in a package with jaw Botox.
2. Consultation with Dr. Park. She checks fat thickness, muscle bulk and skin elasticity, then chooses the formula, volume and zones for your face.
3. Preparation. Separate numbing is usually not needed. The skin is cleansed, and the zones are marked with you sitting upright.
4. The treatment. The solution is placed in the fat layer with a fine needle in about 5–10 minutes. Expect brief stinging or pressure.
5. Out the door and follow-up. No downtime is needed, so continue your day. Plan the next session 1–2 weeks later, and message us if swelling persists.

How Dr. Park plans your Contour Injection treatment

The first decision is the formula. Our packages use Facial Contouring Injection, Power Contouring Injection and Shine Cut Injection. Dr. Park chooses based on how much fat there is and whether puffiness is also a concern.

Volume follows the size of the area. The listed packages use set volumes: 12cc for one facial area and 24cc for the full face with Shine Cut. Power Contouring comes as 18cc, and Body Shine Cut as 10cc. The small-face package spreads treatment over the temporalis muscles, parotid glands and jaw angles.

Sessions are usually repeated every 1–2 weeks, for 3–5 sessions in total. When the masseter also adds width, Dr. Park pairs the injection with jaw Botox, as in our 12cc plus masseter package. This treats fat and muscle together, so one area is not slimmed while the other stays wide.

Contour Injection results: what to expect and when

• After each session: mild swelling is common for a day or two.
• After 2–3 sessions: a gradual slimming of the face line may become noticeable.
• After the full course: the result can be assessed a few weeks after the last session; a stable weight helps it last.
• Please note: results and timing vary by person.

Side effects, risks and who should avoid Contour Injection

Contour Injection is generally well tolerated when performed by a doctor. Possible side effects include:

• Swelling, redness, tenderness or bruising at injection sites
• Temporary firmness, itching or small lumps that soften over several days
• Rarely, uneven results or skin irritation

Not suitable if you: are pregnant or breastfeeding; have an infection or inflamed skin in the area; are allergic to any ingredient; have a bleeding disorder; or mainly have loose skin rather than fat, where reducing fat may not improve the shape. Tell your doctor about all medications, especially blood thinners.

Choose Contour Injection for soft fat and puffiness over a course of visits. Choose jaw Botox if your jaw hardens when you clench. Choose ONDA if you would rather have one device session.

Aftercare after Contour Injection

• For about 3–4 hours after treatment, do not lie down or rub the treated area.
• On the day of treatment, avoid saunas, hot baths, strenuous exercise and alcohol.
• Do not massage or press firmly on the treated area.
• Temporary swelling, bruising or soreness may occur and usually settles on its own.
• Results and how long they last vary with your skin, muscles and lifestyle.

Downtime after Contour Injection, and flying home

You can usually leave the clinic and carry on with your plans. The treated area may feel tender, warm or slightly swollen for a day or two. For 3–4 hours, stay upright and do not rub the area. Leave out the sauna, jjimjilbang, hot baths, hard exercise and alcohol that day, since heat and alcohol can increase swelling.

Why combine a contour injection with jaw Botox?

Because a wide lower face often has two causes at once: fat and a strong chewing muscle. A contour injection reduces fat, but it cannot shrink muscle. Jaw Botox slims the masseter, but it does not remove fat.

Treating both gives a more even result than treating only one. That is why our packages pair Facial Contouring Injection 12cc or Power Contouring Injection 18cc with jaw Botox. Dr. Park checks your jaw while you clench and relax before suggesting it. If your width is mostly fat or mostly muscle, a single treatment may be enough.

What is the difference between Shine Cut and a regular contouring injection?

Shine Cut Injection is one of the contouring formulas we offer, listed per area (12cc) or for the full face (24cc). All our contouring injections aim to reduce localised fat. The formulas differ, and Dr. Park chooses one based on your fat, puffiness and goals.

We do not publish the exact ingredients of each formula here. Ask at your consultation if you want to know what is in the product used for you. The right choice depends on your face rather than the product name. Price and the number of areas also play a part.

Can contour injections slim my arms or stomach?

Yes, for small areas of localised fat. We offer Body Shine Cut Injection 10cc for body areas, and it works on the same principle as the facial version. Each session treats a modest amount, so a course is usually needed.

Contour injections are not a weight-loss treatment and will not replace diet or exercise. For a larger area, a device such as ONDA or a combination plan may be more practical. Dr. Park will look at the area and tell you honestly what is realistic. A wedding or event date helps her plan the timing.
