Coretox in Busan
#LowResistanceToxin · #PureToxin · #WrinkleBotox · #JawBotox
Coretox is a botulinum toxin with the unnecessary complexing proteins removed, which may lower the risk of developing resistance. Because toxin treatments are repeated over time, it supports consistent care from wrinkle softening to jaw contouring.
Quick answer: Coretox is a Korean botulinum toxin type A with the complexing proteins removed, used to soften expression lines and slim a square jaw. Because it contains only the core toxin, it may lower the chance of developing resistance after repeated treatments. At Art of Shine Clinic in Seomyeon, Busan, it takes about 5–10 minutes, needs no numbing and has no downtime. Results usually last 3–6 months.

What is Coretox?
Coretox is a botulinum toxin type A made by Medytox in Korea. Most toxins contain the active neurotoxin wrapped in complexing proteins; Coretox is purified to leave only the core neurotoxin. Because the body can form antibodies after many treatments, toxins without complexing proteins are often chosen by people who have toxin regularly. Our Head Director, Dr. Park Yoon-soo, is a 2026 CORETOX Expert.
Coretox treats the same areas as other toxins: forehead lines, frown lines, crow's feet and an enlarged jaw muscle. Art of Shine Clinic also offers Xeomin, another toxin without complexing proteins; see our Botox guide for all brands.
How Coretox works
Like all botulinum toxins, Coretox temporarily blocks the nerve signal that makes a muscle contract. Relaxed muscles stop creasing the skin, so expression lines soften, and a relaxed masseter slowly reduces in bulk.
- Consultation: your doctor assesses your muscle movement and maps the injection points and dose.
- Injection: very fine needles deliver small, measured doses in about 5–10 minutes.
- After: you can return to your day immediately; effects start within a few days.
Why patients choose Coretox
- Core toxin only — complexing proteins removed for a purified formula.
- Suited to repeat treatments — may lower the risk of resistance over time.
- Wrinkles and contour — treats expression lines and jaw muscle.
- No downtime — easy to fit into a short trip to Busan.
Who is Coretox for — and when we suggest something else
Good candidates
- You have regular toxin treatments and want a product without complexing proteins.
- You feel a previous toxin wore off faster than expected over the years.
- You want to soften forehead lines, frown lines or crow's feet.
- Your jaw looks square from a strong masseter muscle.
- You want a quick treatment with no downtime during a Busan trip.
We may suggest something else if…
- You are new to toxin and price matters most. Our Korean trial Botox offers may suit a first treatment.
- Your lines stay deep when your face is relaxed. You may also need Wrinkle Filler.
- You want finer pores and smoother texture rather than fewer lines. Skin Botox is designed for that.
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a neuromuscular disorder, or have an infection where we would inject. We advise not treating.
What happens at your Coretox session in Seomyeon
- Message us on WhatsApp first. Tell us the areas you want treated and, if you know it, the brand and date of your last toxin treatment.
- Consultation with Dr. Park. Dr. Park, a 2026 CORETOX Expert, checks your muscle movement on both sides and reviews your health and medicines.
- Preparation. No separate numbing is usually needed. The skin is cleansed, and injection points are marked while you are upright.
- The treatment. Small doses go in with a very fine needle in about 5–10 minutes. Each point feels like a quick pinch.
- Out the door and follow-up. There is no downtime. Effects start within a few days; message us around two weeks later if anything feels uneven.
How Dr. Park plans your Coretox treatment
Coretox is dosed the same way as other botulinum toxins: by the muscle, not by a fixed formula. Dr. Park watches how you frown, raise your brows and smile. She then decides the number of points and the amount for each area. The dose is set at your consultation rather than in advance.
The reason to choose Coretox is long-term. Because it has no complexing proteins, it may lower the chance of resistance with repeated treatments. That matters most if you have toxin every 3–6 months for years.
For a natural look, Dr. Park keeps some movement in the forehead and balances the brows. For the jaw, she aims to slim bulk while keeping comfortable chewing. Your first session sets a baseline, and later doses are adjusted to how you responded.
Coretox results: what to expect and when
- Days 3–7: lines begin to soften as the muscle relaxes.
- Week 2: the full wrinkle-softening effect is visible.
- Weeks 4–8: jaw slimming develops gradually.
- Months 3–6: movement slowly returns; a repeat treatment maintains the result.
- Please note: results and timing vary by person.
Side effects, risks and who should avoid Coretox
Coretox is generally well tolerated when performed by a doctor. Possible side effects include:
- Small bumps, redness, swelling or bruising at injection points (usually settles within hours to a few days)
- Mild headache or a feeling of heaviness
- Rarely, temporary eyebrow or eyelid drooping, or asymmetry, which fades as the effect wears off
- Mild chewing fatigue for a few weeks after jaw treatment
Not suitable if you: are pregnant or breastfeeding; have a neuromuscular disorder (such as myasthenia gravis or Lambert-Eaton syndrome); have an infection at the injection site; or are allergic to botulinum toxin or any ingredient. Tell your doctor about all medications, especially blood thinners and certain antibiotics (aminoglycosides).
Coretox vs Botox, Xeomin and Liztox: which should you choose?
All four are botulinum toxin type A and work the same way; they differ in formulation and price.
| Treatment | How it works | Best for | Downtime | Results last |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coretox | Toxin with complexing proteins removed | Regular users, lines and jaw | None | About 3–6 months |
| Korean Botox | Botulinum toxin type A relaxes the muscle | First-timers, budget trials | None | About 3–6 months |
| Xeomin | Toxin without complexing proteins, made in Germany | Regular users wanting an imported toxin | None | About 3–6 months |
| Liztox | Korean botulinum toxin type A | Everyday lines and jaw slimming | None | About 3–6 months |
Choose Coretox or Xeomin if you have toxin often and want to reduce resistance risk. Choose a Korean trial toxin for a first, low-cost treatment. Results last a similar time with each.
Aftercare after Coretox
- For about 3–4 hours after treatment, do not lie down or rub the treated area.
- On the day of treatment, avoid saunas, hot baths, strenuous exercise and alcohol.
- Do not massage or press firmly on the treated area.
- Temporary swelling, bruising or soreness may occur and usually settles on its own.
- Results and how long they last vary with your skin, muscles and lifestyle.

Downtime after Coretox, and flying home
Coretox needs no recovery time. Small raised marks at the injection points usually flatten within an hour. Keep upright and avoid touching the area for 3–4 hours. On the day, skip the sauna, jjimjilbang, hot baths, alcohol and intense exercise; a walk around Seomyeon or the beach is fine.
Makeup can usually go on later the same day, using a light touch. The effect begins within a few days and peaks at about two weeks. If you want a check before you fly home, have it early in your stay. Tell Dr. Park your flight date at consultation. See our aftercare tips for travellers.

What does "complexing proteins removed" actually mean?
Most botulinum toxins contain the active neurotoxin plus extra proteins that surround it. These complexing proteins do not help relax the muscle. Coretox is purified to leave only the core neurotoxin.
The idea is that fewer foreign proteins give the immune system less to react to. Over many treatments, some people may form antibodies, which can make toxin work less well. Toxins without complexing proteins are often chosen to lower that risk. They do not make results stronger or longer. In daily practice, the visible effect is similar to other toxins.
How do I know if I have become resistant to Botox?
A sign is when the same area and dose that used to work now does little, or wears off much sooner. Resistance is uncommon, and many other factors can explain a weaker result. These include a lower dose, a different product, or very strong muscles.
Tell Dr. Park what you had, when, and how long it lasted. She will look at the pattern before calling it resistance. If it seems likely, she may suggest a toxin without complexing proteins, such as Coretox or Xeomin. She may also suggest a longer gap between treatments.
Can I switch from Botox to Coretox?
Yes. Switching between botulinum toxin products is common, and Coretox treats the same areas. Wait until your previous treatment has started to wear off, usually after about 3 months. Dr. Park can then judge your muscle movement properly.
Your dose may be adjusted after switching, because products are not always dosed one-to-one. Bring the name of your previous product if you know it. If you are happy with your current toxin, there is no need to switch. Coretox is mainly an option for people who have toxin often or worry about resistance.
Coretox FAQ
How much does Coretox cost in Busan?
Coretox pricing depends on the area and the number of units your doctor recommends. Ask Art of Shine Clinic in Seomyeon on WhatsApp for a quote before your visit. Prices are in KRW, exclude 10% VAT and are paid at the clinic on the day.
Does Coretox hurt?
Most people feel only a quick pinch from a very fine needle, so numbing is usually not needed. The injections take about 5–10 minutes, and any small bumps at the injection points usually settle within an hour or so.
How long does Coretox last?
Results usually last about 3–6 months. Wrinkle softening tends to wear off sooner than jaw slimming. Duration varies with your muscle strength, metabolism and the area treated, and your doctor will suggest a repeat interval.
Can I fly or go sightseeing after Coretox?
Yes. There is no downtime. Avoid lying down or rubbing the area for 3–4 hours, and skip saunas, hot baths, alcohol and hard exercise on the day. Mention any upcoming flight during your consultation so timing can be planned.
What is the difference between Coretox and regular Botox?
Both relax muscles in the same way and give broadly similar results. Coretox has the complexing proteins removed, which may reduce the risk of resistance over many treatments. Your doctor can advise whether it suits you, especially if you have toxin regularly.
Who performs Coretox at Art of Shine?
Treatment is planned at a doctor consultation. Our Head Director, Dr. Park Yoon-soo, is a 2026 CORETOX Expert. To ask who will treat you on your date, message us on WhatsApp.
Is Coretox priced differently from Korean trial Botox?
Our listed trial offers are for Korean wrinkle and jaw Botox. Coretox is quoted separately, depending on the area and dose. Ask on WhatsApp for a quote; all prices exclude 10% VAT.
Can I book Coretox for the same day?
Same-day treatment depends on availability. Your consultation can usually happen on the day. Send your preferred time on WhatsApp, and we will confirm a slot. We are open Mon–Fri 10:00–20:00 and Sat 10:00–16:00 KST.
