What is Liztox?

Liztox is a botulinum toxin type A product made in Korea. Like other toxins, it works by temporarily relaxing the specific muscles it is injected into, which softens lines caused by movement and can reduce the bulk of a strong jaw muscle over time.

It is one of several toxin brands available at Art of Shine Clinic, alongside Nabota, Coretox and German Xeomin. For a general guide to how toxin treatment works, see our Botox page. Your doctor recommends the product and dose during consultation.

How Liztox works

Botulinum toxin temporarily blocks the nerve signal that tells a muscle to contract. As the muscle relaxes, the skin over it creases less, so dynamic lines soften. In the jaw, the relaxed masseter gradually reduces in bulk over several weeks.

  1. Consultation: your doctor checks your muscle movement and maps the injection points.
  2. Injection: very fine needles deliver small, measured doses. Most people feel a brief pinch.
  3. After: you can go straight back to your day; results develop over the following days to weeks.

Why patients choose Liztox

  • Korean-made toxin — a practical option for regular maintenance.
  • Natural expression — targets lines while keeping your face moving.
  • Dose matched to you — adjusted to each area's muscle strength.
  • Quick and no downtime — fits easily into a trip to Busan.

Who is Liztox for — and when we suggest something else

Good candidates

  • You have frown lines, forehead lines or crow’s feet that show mainly when you move your face.
  • Your jaw muscle is strong and you want a softer lower-face line without surgery.
  • You want regular toxin care on a predictable 3–6 month cycle.
  • You prefer a quick visit of about 5–10 minutes with no downtime.
  • You want lines softened while your face still moves naturally.
  • You are in Busan for a short stay and want something that fits around sightseeing.

We may suggest something else if…

  • Your lines are visible even at rest and feel etched in. A wrinkle filler or skin booster may be added.
  • You mainly want finer pores and a smoother surface. Skin Botox places diluted toxin in the skin instead.
  • You have toxin very often and worry about it working less over time. Dr. Park may discuss Xeomin.
  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have a neuromuscular condition. Toxin should be postponed or avoided.

What happens at your Liztox session in Seomyeon

  1. Message us on WhatsApp first. Send a short message with the areas you want to treat, recent toxin dates and your travel dates. Photos of your face moving help us plan.
  2. Consultation with Dr. Park. Dr. Park watches how your forehead, brows, eyes and jaw move. She checks your medical history, medicines and past results.
  3. Preparation & numbing. No separate anesthesia is needed for Liztox. The skin is cleansed, and injection points may be marked while you make expressions.
  4. The treatment. Injections take about 5–10 minutes. Most people feel quick, small pinches; jaw injections can feel like brief pressure.
  5. Out the door & follow-up. You can return to daily life immediately. Results build over the following days; message us if anything looks uneven so we can review it.

How Dr. Park plans your Liztox treatment

Muscle by muscle, not a fixed recipe

Each face uses its muscles differently. Dr. Park looks at which muscles create your lines and how strong they are. Dose and injection points are then adjusted for each area.

Keeping expression natural

The aim is to soften lines, not to stop movement completely. Brow position and how you smile are checked, so the result still looks like you.

Spacing your sessions

Liztox is usually repeated every 3–6 months, depending on the area and your muscles. Jaw treatment often lasts differently from wrinkle treatment. We plan the next visit from how your results actually fade.

Liztox results: what to expect and when

  • Day 3–7: lines begin to soften as the muscle relaxes.
  • Week 2: the full wrinkle-relaxing effect is usually visible.
  • Weeks 4–8: jaw-slimming results develop gradually.
  • Months 3–6: movement slowly returns; a repeat treatment maintains results (varies by person).

Side effects, risks and who should avoid Liztox

Botulinum toxin treatment is generally well tolerated when performed by a doctor. Possible side effects include:

  • Small bumps, redness, swelling or bruising at injection points (usually settles within hours to a few days)
  • Mild headache or a feeling of heaviness
  • Rarely, temporary eyebrow or eyelid drooping, or asymmetry, which fades as the effect wears off
  • Mild chewing fatigue for a few weeks after jaw treatment

Not suitable if you: are pregnant or breastfeeding; have a neuromuscular disorder (such as myasthenia gravis); have an infection at the injection site; or are allergic to any ingredient. Tell your doctor about all medications, especially blood thinners.

Liztox vs Botox, Xeomin and Nabota: which should you choose?

All four products below are botulinum toxin type A, so the mechanism is the same; the differences are product and history.

Treatment How it works Best for Downtime Results last
Liztox Korean botulinum toxin type A Regular, cost-conscious toxin care None; back to daily life immediately Approx. 3–6 months
Botox Botulinum toxin type A; relaxes the targeted muscle Expression lines and jaw contouring None; back to daily life immediately Approx. 3–6 months

Nabota Korean botulinum toxin type A; U.S. FDA-approved for frown lines Frown lines, forehead and crow’s feet None; back to daily life immediately Approx. 3–6 months

Choose Liztox if you want regular, cost-conscious toxin care with a Korean product. Choose Xeomin if you have toxin often. Choose Nabota or Botox if you prefer a product with U.S. approval history. Dr. Park can help you weigh these.

Aftercare after Liztox

  • For about 3–4 hours, avoid lying down or rubbing the treated area.
  • On the day of treatment, skip saunas, hot baths, hard exercise and alcohol.
  • Do not massage or press firmly on the treated area.

Downtime after Liztox, and flying home

There is no real downtime after Liztox. You may see small bumps for a short while, and a light bruise is possible. Stay upright and avoid rubbing the area for about 3–4 hours. On the day, skip saunas, jjimjilbang, hot baths, alcohol and hard exercise. You can go sightseeing straight away, and light makeup is usually fine later that day.

Results take a few days to appear, so plan your visit early in your trip if you can. Tell Dr. Park your flight date at the consultation. Flying is generally fine after toxin, but avoid pressing on the treated area with a neck pillow or mask. Read our aftercare tips for travellers before you go.

Is Liztox as good as Botox?

Liztox and Botox contain the same active type of toxin, botulinum toxin type A. Both relax the muscle that causes expression lines. In daily practice, the result depends more on correct dose and placement than on the brand name. Some people respond slightly differently to different products. That is why your history matters. If a previous brand worked well for you, tell Dr. Park. If you have felt a product wear off quickly, mention that too. She can then suggest whether to stay with Liztox or try another option.

How many days does Liztox take to work?

Liztox does not work instantly. Most people start to notice softer movement within a few days. The full effect usually settles in about one to two weeks. Jaw slimming takes longer, because the muscle needs time to shrink with reduced use. This change can take several weeks. If you are visiting Busan for a short trip, book early in your stay. That way you can see the early effect before you fly. If one side looks different after two weeks, contact us on WhatsApp.

Can Liztox be used for the jaw as well as wrinkles?

Yes, Liztox can be used for both expression lines and a strong jaw muscle. These are different goals with different doses and injection depths. For wrinkles, small amounts go into thin facial muscles. For the jaw, the toxin goes into the masseter, the chewing muscle. Not every wide lower face is caused by muscle. Fat, bone shape or skin laxity can also play a role. Dr. Park will feel the muscle while you clench. If muscle is not the main cause, she may suggest a Contour Injection or lifting instead.
