#FillSunkenTemples · #YoungerLook · #NaturalSideProfile · #VolumeBoost

Temple filler uses hyaluronic acid to restore volume to the temples, an area that often becomes sunken with age. Filling the temples smooths your side profile and gives the forehead and eye area a naturally brighter look.

Quick answer: Temple filler uses hyaluronic acid to restore volume to temples that have become hollow with age, weight loss or natural face shape, smoothing the side profile between the forehead and cheekbones. At Art of Shine Clinic in Seomyeon, Busan, it takes about 10–20 minutes after numbing cream, with minimal downtime and mild swelling possible. Results usually last about 12–18 months. Pricing depends on the amount needed, so ask on WhatsApp for a quote.

What is Temple Filler?

The temples sit at the sides of the forehead, between the outer brow and the hairline. When they become hollow, the upper face can look narrower and the cheekbones more prominent, which can give a tired look. Temple filler places hyaluronic acid deep in this area to smooth the contour.

Temple filler is often planned together with forehead volume (see glabella & forehead filler) so the upper face looks balanced. For larger-volume plans across several areas, your doctor may suggest a high-volume filler such as Q.O.Fill.

How Temple Filler works

Filler is placed in deeper layers of the temple to fill the hollow from beneath. As the dip softens, the line from the forehead to the cheekbone looks smoother.

  1. Consultation: your doctor assesses the depth of your temple hollows from the front and side and plans the amount.
  2. Treatment: after numbing cream, the filler is placed with a fine needle or blunt cannula in about 10–20 minutes.
  3. After: your doctor checks the shape and symmetry, and you can return to your day with mild swelling possible.

Why patients choose Temple Filler

  • Fills sunken temples — restores volume where the face has hollowed.
  • A smoother side profile — a softer line from forehead to cheekbone.
  • A brighter overall look — the upper face looks fuller and more rested.
  • Reversible — as a hyaluronic acid filler, it can be dissolved if needed.

Who is Temple Filler for — and when we suggest something else

Good candidates

  • Your temples have become hollow, making the upper face look narrow.
  • Your side profile looks sunken between the forehead and the cheekbone.
  • You wear your hair back and notice a dip at the temples.
  • Your brow tail looks heavier because the temple has hollowed.
  • You want an immediate, reversible change without surgery.

We may suggest something else if…

  • You prefer volume to build slowly over several sessions. Juvelook Volume is a gradual option.
  • Several areas have hollowed, not just the temples. A wider plan such as Q.O.Fill may be more balanced.
  • Your forehead is flat or lined as well. Glabella & Forehead Filler may be planned with, or instead of, temples.
  • Your main concern is jawline sagging. A lifting treatment may help more than temple volume.
  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have a skin infection at the temples. Treatment waits.

What happens at your Temple Filler session in Seomyeon

  1. Message us on WhatsApp first. Send front and side photos with your hair pulled back. Tell us your travel dates and any filler you have had.
  2. Consultation with Dr. Park. She checks how deep each temple is, how it connects to the forehead and cheekbone, and your medical history.
  3. Preparation & numbing. Numbing cream is applied for about 20–30 minutes. Hair is clipped back and the hollow is marked while you sit up.
  4. The treatment. Injecting takes about 10–20 minutes. You feel pressure and fullness near the temple, and both sides are compared in a mirror.
  5. Out the door & follow-up. You can return to your day; chewing may feel tender briefly. Message us if swelling is one-sided or uncomfortable.

How Dr. Park plans your Temple Filler treatment

Reading the upper face

Temple hollowing changes how the forehead, brows and cheekbones connect. Dr. Park looks at the whole upper third, not only the dip itself. The aim is a smooth curve from forehead to cheekbone.

Amount and depth

There is no fixed temple package on our current list. The amount depends on how hollow your temples are, and you get a quote before treatment. Temples are a deeper area, and she chooses the layer and technique to suit your anatomy.

Keeping it natural

Overfilled temples can look bulging, so she corrects gradually and compares both sides. Results usually last about 12–18 months, with top-ups typically every 12–18 months.

Temple filler results: what to expect and when

  • Immediately: the change is visible as soon as treatment ends, often with some swelling.
  • Days 2–7: swelling and any bruising settle.
  • Weeks 2–4: the filler settles and softens; this is the right time to judge the result.
  • Months 12–18: the filler is gradually absorbed and a top-up can maintain the result. Timing varies by person.

Side effects, risks and who should avoid temple filler

Hyaluronic acid filler is generally well tolerated when performed by a doctor. Possible side effects include:

  • Swelling, redness, tenderness or bruising at the injection sites (usually settles within a few days)
  • Small lumps or slight unevenness, which often soften as the filler settles
  • Temporary tenderness when chewing, or a mild headache, for a few days
  • Rarely, infection, an allergic reaction or delayed lumps
  • Very rarely, filler can block a blood vessel. Contact the clinic or seek urgent care immediately for severe pain, skin colour changes or changes in vision

Not suitable if you: are pregnant or breastfeeding; have an infection, cold sore or inflamed skin in the area; are allergic to hyaluronic acid filler ingredients or local anaesthetics such as lidocaine; have a history of severe allergic reactions; or have a bleeding disorder. Tell your doctor about all medications, especially blood thinners, and any previous filler or surgery in the area.

Temple Filler results timeline: when results appear and peak, and how long they last (About 12–18 months)

Temple filler vs Juvelook Volume and Q.O.Fill: which should you choose?

Each can restore temple volume, but the speed and scope differ.

Treatment How it works Best for Downtime Results last
Temple Filler Hyaluronic acid restores temple volume immediately Hollow temples on their own Immediate return; mild swelling possible About 12–18 months
Juvelook Volume Stimulates collagen so volume builds gradually Mild hollowing, gradual change Needle marks or swelling for 1–2 days Varies; 3+ sessions recommended
Q.O.Fill High-volume HA gel spread across several areas Temples plus cheeks or forehead Immediate return; swelling may be more noticeable About 12–18 months

Choose temple filler if only your temples need help and you want an instant result. Choose Juvelook Volume if you prefer slow change. Choose Q.O.Fill if several areas have hollowed together.

Downtime after Temple Filler, and flying home

In the first 24–72 hours, the temples can feel tight or tender, especially when chewing or yawning. Mild swelling may spread slightly toward the eyes. Avoid pressing, tight hats or headbands on the area. Makeup is usually fine from the next day, applied gently.

You can sightsee the same day. Avoid saunas, the jjimjilbang and hot baths for 1–2 weeks where possible. Skip alcohol and hard exercise on the day. Tell Dr. Park your flight date at consultation. Keeping a day or two before a long flight gives time for a check. For more tips, read our aftercare guide for travellers.

Why do my temples look sunken as I get older?

Temples hollow mainly because fat and supporting tissue thin with age. Bone changes and weight loss can make it more noticeable. Very lean people and those who exercise a lot often show temple hollowing earlier. Because the temple sits between the forehead and cheekbone, a dip there makes the upper face look narrower. It can also make the brow tail and outer eye look heavier. Filler replaces lost volume, but it does not stop ageing. Dr. Park looks at the whole face to decide whether temples alone, or a wider plan, would look more natural.

Can temple filler lift the outer brow or eye area?

It can give a subtle supporting effect, but it is not a brow lift. Filling the temple smooths the transition from forehead to cheekbone. For some people, this makes the outer brow and eye area look less heavy. It will not raise a drooping brow or tighten loose eyelid skin. For brow position, Botox or a lifting treatment may be discussed instead. Dr. Park explains realistic changes at consultation. If you want a clearer lift, she may suggest combining approaches over separate visits.

Does temple filler hurt more than other areas?

Most people find it similar to other filler areas, with more pressure than pain. Numbing cream is applied for about 20–30 minutes first. Because temples are deeper, you may feel a dull fullness as volume builds. Some people notice tenderness when chewing for a day or two afterwards. This is usually mild and settles on its own. Sharp, worsening pain or skin colour change is not normal. Contact the clinic straight away if that happens. Tell Dr. Park if you are sensitive to pain so she can pace the treatment.

Temple Filler FAQ

How much does temple filler cost in Busan?

Temple filler is priced by the amount of filler, which depends on how hollow your temples are. There is no fixed temple package on our current list, so message us on WhatsApp for a quote before your visit. Prices exclude 10% VAT.

Does temple filler hurt?

Numbing cream is applied for about 20–30 minutes first, and many fillers also contain a local anaesthetic. Most people feel pressure and mild stinging rather than sharp pain. The injections take about 10–20 minutes, and tenderness usually settles within a day or two.

How long does temple filler last?

Temple filler usually lasts about 12–18 months, because it is placed deep in an area that moves relatively little. It is absorbed gradually, and a top-up maintains the contour. How long it lasts varies with metabolism, lifestyle and the product used.

Can I go sightseeing or fly after temple filler?

Yes, most people return to sightseeing straight away. Mild swelling or bruising can last a few days. Avoid saunas, hot baths, alcohol and hard exercise on the day, and avoid pressing or massaging the area for 1–2 weeks. Mention any flight during your consultation.

Temple filler or Juvelook Volume for hollow temples?

Temple filler uses hyaluronic acid, so the change is visible immediately. Juvelook Volume is a collagen stimulator that builds volume gradually over weeks and usually needs more than one session. Your doctor will suggest which suits your timeline and the look you want.

Who performs temple filler at Art of Shine Clinic?

Dr. Park Yoon-soo, Head Director, plans and performs the treatment. She graduated from Kyungpook National University School of Medicine and is a Restylane Expert Member (Galderma). See our doctors page.

When is the clinic open for temple filler?

We are open Mon–Fri 10:00–20:00 and Sat 10:00–16:00 (KST), with lunch 13:00–14:00, and closed on Sundays. Book by WhatsApp at +82 10-2689-0370 and we will confirm a time and a rough quote.

Is temple filler reversible?

Hyaluronic acid temple filler can usually be broken down with hyaluronidase if needed. This is one reason many people choose HA filler for a first treatment. Dr. Park will discuss it at consultation. See Filler Dissolving for how dissolving works.
