What is Black Peel?
Black Peel is a peeling care that loosens and lifts the layer of dead cells and oil that can make skin look dull and pores look congested. By refining the surface, it helps skin look clearer and feel smoother, and helps your skincare absorb more evenly.
At Art of Shine Clinic it is offered in a skin package with Extraction and ultrasound care. It suits oily or congested skin and can be alternated with gentler options such as Aqua Peel or Lala Peel. Your clinician adjusts the care to your skin.
How Black Peel works
The peel loosens the bonds between dead surface cells and dissolves excess sebum, so they can be cleared away. A fresher layer of skin is revealed, which reflects light more evenly and looks brighter.
- Consultation: your skin type and sensitivity are checked to set the care.
- Peel: the peeling care is applied and cleared, refining dead cells and sebum.
- After: soothing care is applied; any mild redness usually settles soon.
Why patients choose Black Peel
- Dead cells and sebum together — refines both in one session.
- Brighter tone — helps clear a dull, tired-looking complexion.
- Smoother texture — skin feels softer after care.
- Good for routine care — short session that fits a regular schedule.
Who is Black Peel for — and when we suggest something else
Good candidates
- Your skin is oily and the tone looks dull or grey.
- You have congested pores with sebum build-up.
- Your texture feels rough from dead cell build-up.
- You want a 20–30 minute care that fits into a busy day.
- You want regular peeling care as part of a skin routine.
We may suggest something else if…
- Your skin is very sensitive or reactive. Lala Peel or Milk Peel may be gentler.
- You have active inflamed acne. Anti-Inflammatory Injection may be needed first.
- You are dealing with redness after a laser. Cryocell calms heat instead.
- You have recently used strong exfoliants or retinoids, or have sunburn. Wait until your skin settles.
What happens at your Black Peel session in Seomyeon
- Message us on WhatsApp first. Tell us your skin type, current skincare (especially retinoids or acids) and your main concern.
- Consultation with Dr. Park. Dr. Park reviews your skin and history. She checks oil, congestion and sensitivity to decide if Black Peel suits you.
- Preparation & numbing. No separate anesthesia is needed. Your skin is cleansed and prepared.
- The treatment. The peel is applied and then removed, often with extraction and ultrasound care. It takes about 20–30 minutes; mild tingling or stinging is common.
- Out the door & follow-up. You can return to daily life immediately. Avoid scrubs for about a week, and book again in 1–2 weeks for regular care.
How Dr. Park plans your Black Peel treatment
Black Peel is designed to refine dead cells and sebum together. Dr. Park looks at where oil and congestion are concentrated. Oily zones may need more attention, while dry or sensitive areas are treated gently.
Our package combines Facial Black Peel with Extraction and Ultrasound Care. The peel softens the surface first, extraction clears congested pores, and ultrasound care helps settle the skin.
For regular care, sessions every 1–2 weeks are recommended. Between visits, avoid scrubs and strong peeling products so the skin barrier can recover.
Black Peel results: what to expect and when
- Right after: skin feels smoother; mild redness or stinging may occur.
- Days 1–3: redness settles and tone looks clearer.
- After several sessions: clarity and texture are easier to maintain (varies by person).
Side effects, risks and who should avoid Black Peel
Black Peel is generally well tolerated. Possible side effects include:
- Temporary redness, warmth or stinging
- Dryness or light flaking for a few days
- Increased sun sensitivity for a short time
- Rarely, irritation or a breakout in sensitive skin
Not suitable if you: have an active skin infection, open wounds or a flare of eczema or rosacea in the area; are currently sunburned; have recently used isotretinoin or strong retinoids; or have had a bad reaction to peels before. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or have very sensitive skin.

Is Black Peel suitable for oily, acne-prone skin?
It is often a good fit for oily, congested skin. Black Peel targets dead cells and sebum, which can block pores. Combining it with extraction helps clear existing build-up. However, red, painful inflamed acne is different. Peeling inflamed spots can irritate them. Dr. Park may treat inflammation first, then use Black Peel for maintenance. Tell her about any acne medicines you take. Some medicines make the skin more sensitive. Regular, gentle care usually works better than occasional harsh peeling. Your plan can change as the acne settles.
Why should I avoid scrubs after Black Peel?
After a peel, the outer skin layer has just been refined. Scrubs, acids or other peeling products can over-exfoliate it. That can lead to redness, stinging or dryness. It can also weaken the skin barrier. Avoiding these products for about a week gives the skin time to settle. Use a gentle cleanser, moisturiser and sunscreen instead. If your skin feels unusually sore, message us on WhatsApp. Hot water and rubbing with towels can also irritate fresh skin, so pat dry gently. Most people can return to their normal routine after about a week.
How many Black Peel sessions do I need?
There is no fixed number. Some people see brighter, smoother skin after one session. For regular care, sessions every 1–2 weeks are recommended. Oily skin tends to build up again, so regular care maintains the effect. If you are only in Busan for a short trip, one session can still help. Dr. Park will suggest home care to keep results going. Your skin type, oil level and routine all affect how often you need it. Combining it with extraction in the same visit can make each session more useful.
