What is Aqua Peel?
Aqua Peel is a water-based peeling facial, similar in idea to hydradermabrasion. A handpiece releases cleansing and exfoliating solutions onto the skin while gentle suction lifts away dead cells, excess oil and debris from pores. Hydrating solution is then applied to leave the skin comfortable.
It is gentle enough for most skin types, including sensitive skin, and is often used before or after other treatments. At Art of Shine Clinic it is included in acne packages with Extraction and Anti-Inflammatory Injection, and can be combined with Pico Toning.
How Aqua Peel works
Cleansing solutions soften dead skin and sebum, while a suction tip lifts them out of the pores. Hydrating solution is then delivered to the freshly cleansed skin, so the surface feels smoother and more moisturised straight away.
- Consultation: your skin is checked to choose the right solutions and intensity.
- Treatment: the handpiece cleanses, exfoliates and extracts across the face, then hydrates.
- After: soothing care is applied and you can return to your day.
Why patients choose Aqua Peel
- Three steps in one — cleansing, exfoliation and hydration together.
- Gentle on pores — suction lifts debris without harsh squeezing.
- Instant smoothness — skin feels softer right after care.
- Suits most skin types — including sensitive skin.
Who is Aqua Peel for — and when we suggest something else
Good candidates
- Your pores look clogged with sebum and dead skin cells.
- Your skin feels rough and looks dull, especially in the T-zone.
- You have sensitive skin and want a gentle cleansing care.
- You want regular maintenance between stronger treatments.
- You want back, chest or arm skin cleaned up too, with Body Aqua Peel.
We may suggest something else if…
- You have red, painful inflamed acne. An Anti-Inflammatory Injection or Extraction may come first.
- Your skin is mainly very dry and tight. Hydration Care focuses on moisture.
- You want to improve pigmentation or spots. Pico Toning targets pigment.
- You have an open wound, active cold sore or skin infection in the area. Care should wait until it heals.
What happens at your Aqua Peel session in Seomyeon
- Message us on WhatsApp first. Tell us your skin type and main concern, such as blackheads or dullness. Mention whether you want face or body care.
- Consultation with Dr. Park. Dr. Park reviews your skin and history. She checks oil levels, pore congestion and any inflamed spots that need a different approach.
- Preparation & numbing. No separate anesthesia is needed. Makeup is removed and the skin is cleansed.
- The treatment. Solutions are applied while a handpiece gently suctions impurities from pores, then hydrates. A session takes about 30–60 minutes and feels cool, with light suction.
- Out the door & follow-up. You return to daily life immediately; mild redness fades quickly. For regular care, book again in 1–2 weeks.
How Dr. Park plans your Aqua Peel treatment
Where the care focuses
Not every part of your face needs the same care. The oily T-zone may get more pore cleansing, while dry cheeks get more hydration. Body Aqua Peel covers one zone per session: upper chest, back or arm line.
As part of a plan
Aqua Peel often works as a base step. Our packages pair it with Extraction and Anti-Inflammatory Injection over 5 sessions. For scar care, it joins Gold PTT and Genesis in 1 or 3 sessions.
Spacing
For regular care, sessions every 1–2 weeks are recommended. The gentle approach keeps the skin barrier comfortable between visits.
Aqua Peel results: what to expect and when
- Right after: skin feels cleaner, smoother and more hydrated; mild redness may appear.
- Day 1–2: redness fades and pores look clearer.
- After several sessions: texture and clarity are easier to maintain (varies by person).
Side effects, risks and who should avoid Aqua Peel
Aqua Peel is a gentle treatment and side effects are uncommon. Possible effects include:
- Mild redness or warmth that usually fades within hours
- Temporary dryness or slight tightness
- Rarely, minor irritation or a breakout in sensitive skin
Not suitable if you: have an active skin infection, open wounds or a flare of eczema or rosacea in the area; are currently sunburned; have recently used isotretinoin or strong retinoids; or have had a bad reaction to peels before. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or have very sensitive skin.
Aqua Peel vs Black Peel, Lala Peel and Extraction: which should you choose?
Our gentle skin-care options overlap, so here is how they differ.
| Treatment | How it works | Best for | Downtime | Results last |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Aqua Peel | Cleansing solutions with suction clear pores, then hydrate | Clogged pores and dull, rough skin | None; back to daily life immediately | Varies; repeat every 1–2 weeks |
| Black Peel | Peeling care that refines dead cells and sebum | Oily, congested, dull-toned skin | None; back to daily life immediately | Varies; repeat every 1–2 weeks |
| Lala Peel | Low-irritation peel for exfoliation and tone | Sensitive skin with dull, uneven texture | None; mild redness possible | Varies; repeat every 2–4 weeks |
| Extraction | Manual clearing of sebum and comedones | Blackheads, whiteheads and acne-prone skin | Temporary redness for 1–2 days | Varies; every 2–4 weeks |
Choose Aqua Peel for gentle deep-pore cleansing with hydration. Choose Black Peel for oily, dull skin. Choose Lala Peel for sensitive skin with uneven tone. Choose Extraction when comedones need clearing by hand.

Downtime after Aqua Peel, and flying home
Aqua Peel has no downtime. Your skin may look a little pink for a short while, then smoother and fresher. Skip heavy makeup on the day. Avoid saunas, jjimjilbang and hot baths until the next day. Wear sunscreen when you head out, and moisturise well that evening.
You can go sightseeing straight away, and flying is generally fine the same day. Aqua Peel is a good way to start a skin trip, before other treatments. Tell Dr. Park your travel dates if you are planning several sessions. See our aftercare tips for travellers.

Is Aqua Peel good for blackheads?
It can help loosen and clear blackheads, especially when done regularly. Aqua Peel uses solutions and gentle suction to lift sebum and dead cells from pores. Fresh, soft blackheads often respond well. Deep, hardened plugs may need Extraction as well. Blackheads also return as your skin keeps producing oil. That is why sessions every 1–2 weeks are recommended for regular care. Good home cleansing and sunscreen help maintain results. Avoid squeezing blackheads yourself, as this can leave marks. If you are unsure which step you need, Dr. Park will suggest one at consultation.
Can Aqua Peel be done on the back or chest?
Yes. We offer Body Aqua Peel for the upper chest, back or arm line. Each session covers one chosen zone. These areas often have clogged pores and rough texture because of sweat and friction. The care works in the same way as on the face. If you have painful inflamed spots on the body, mention them at consultation. Dr. Park may suggest a different plan for active acne. Wear loose clothing on the day. Body sessions may take longer than a facial, so allow extra time. Sunscreen on exposed areas still matters afterwards.
How is Aqua Peel different from a facial at a spa?
Aqua Peel at Art of Shine Clinic is part of a medical skin plan. Dr. Park reviews your skin and decides whether Aqua Peel is the right step. It can be combined with medical treatments such as Extraction or Anti-Inflammatory Injection. It also sits within wider plans for acne or scars. A spa facial is usually a relaxation service without medical review. If you have acne or sensitivity, a clinic setting allows the plan to be adjusted. Your skin is also checked before each session, so the care can change as your skin improves.
