What is Belotero Revive?

Belotero Revive is made by Merz Aesthetics. Unlike a volumising filler, it uses a lightly cross-linked hyaluronic acid gel combined with glycerol, injected in many tiny points across the face. Hyaluronic acid holds water in the skin and glycerol helps attract and retain moisture, so the skin looks more hydrated and smoother over a course of sessions.

It suits dry, dull skin and early fine lines. Our head director, Dr. Park Yoon-soo, is a Belotero Key Doctor with Merz Korea. If firmness or thinning skin is your main concern, an ECM booster such as CellREDM or a PDLLA booster such as Juvelook Skin may suit you better.

How Belotero Revive works

Tiny amounts of gel are placed in the upper layers of the skin across the treatment area. The hyaluronic acid and glycerol hydrate the skin from within, and results build with each session.

  1. Consultation: your doctor assesses your skin and plans the number of sessions.
  2. Treatment: after numbing cream, many small injections are made across the face in about 10–20 minutes.
  3. After: small bumps or needle marks fade over 1–2 days; the next session follows in 2–4 weeks.

Why patients choose Belotero Revive

  • Hydration synergy — hyaluronic acid and glycerol work together to hold moisture.
  • Softens fine lines — smooths early lines and crepey texture.
  • A subtle, dewy glow — skin looks fresher without looking overdone.
  • Face shape unchanged — improves skin quality without adding volume.

Who is Belotero Revive for — and when we suggest something else

Good candidates

  • Your skin feels dry or tight from within, even with good moisturiser.
  • You have fine lines and dull texture rather than deep folds.
  • You want a subtle, dewy glow rather than added volume.
  • You can return for a course of three or more sessions, 2–4 weeks apart.
  • You have mild loss of elasticity and want to improve skin quality.
  • You can avoid lying down or rubbing your face for 3–4 hours afterwards.

We may suggest something else if…

  • You want to fill folds or hollows. A hyaluronic acid filler such as Restylane adds volume instead.
  • Thin skin and lost firmness are your main concerns. CellREDM focuses on firmness and dermal structure.
  • You have acne scars or enlarged pores. Potenza targets texture with microneedle radiofrequency.
  • You can only make one visit to Busan. A course is recommended, so ask about timing before booking.
  • You have an active skin infection, breakout or cold sore on the face. Treatment waits until it settles.

  2. Consultation with Dr. Park. She assesses dryness, fine lines and skin thickness. She also checks your recent treatments, skincare and medical history.
  3. Preparation & numbing. Your face is cleansed and numbing cream is applied for about 20–30 minutes.
  4. The treatment. Many small injections take about 10–20 minutes. You feel quick pricks, and small bumps form where the product is placed.
  5. Out the door & follow-up. Mild swelling or needle marks can last 1–2 days. Book your next session 2–4 weeks later.

How Dr. Park plans your Belotero Revive treatment

What the product does

Belotero Revive combines hyaluronic acid with glycerol for hydration. It is a skin booster, so it improves skin quality rather than adding contour.

Dose and spacing

Our listed packages use Belotero Revive Skin Booster 2cc per session. You can book 1 session or a package of 3 sessions. Dr. Park spaces sessions 2–4 weeks apart, as 3 or more sessions are recommended.

Where it goes

Small amounts are spread evenly across the areas that need hydration. Placement is shallow, so the result looks like healthier skin, not filled skin. Lip treatment with Belotero is a separate filler plan, as in our Restylane lip package.

Belotero Revive results: what to expect and when

  • Days 1–2: small bumps, redness or needle marks settle.
  • Weeks 1–2: skin feels more hydrated and looks fresher.
  • After 2–3 sessions: texture and fine lines improve gradually.
  • Ongoing: maintenance sessions help keep results; how long they last varies by person.

Side effects, risks and who should avoid Belotero Revive

Belotero Revive is generally well tolerated when performed by a doctor. Possible side effects include:

  • Small bumps, redness or needle marks for 1–3 days
  • Swelling, tenderness or bruising at the injection points
  • Rarely, lumps, infection or an allergic reaction

Not suitable if you: are pregnant or breastfeeding; have an active skin infection, cold sore or inflamed acne in the area; are allergic to any ingredient; or have a bleeding disorder. Tell your doctor about all medications, especially blood thinners and isotretinoin.

Belotero Revive vs Re2O and Rejuran Healer: which should you choose?

These skin boosters overlap, but each has a different main ingredient and focus.

Treatment How it works Best for Downtime Results last
Belotero Revive HA and glycerol for deep hydration Dryness, fine lines, dullness Mild swelling or needle marks for 1–2 days Varies; 3+ sessions recommended
Re2O Hyaluronic acid-based skin booster Moisture and a subtle glow Mild swelling or needle marks for 1–2 days Varies; 3+ sessions recommended
Rejuran Healer Salmon-derived PN supports skin repair Damaged skin, texture, thin skin Mild swelling or needle marks for 1–2 days Varies; 3+ sessions recommended

Choose Belotero Revive if hydration and fine lines are your main concern. Choose Re2O for a simpler moisture boost. Choose Rejuran Healer if your skin needs repair as much as moisture.

Aftercare after Belotero Revive

  • For about 3–4 hours after treatment, avoid lying down or rubbing the treated area.
  • On the day of treatment, avoid saunas, hot baths, strenuous exercise, and alcohol.

  • Temporary swelling, bruising, or soreness may occur and usually subsides over time.
  • Results and duration may vary depending on individual condition and lifestyle.

Downtime after Belotero Revive, and flying home

Small bumps or needle marks are normal for 1–2 days, and some mild swelling can appear. For 3–4 hours, avoid lying down or rubbing the treated area. Do not massage or press firmly. Light makeup is usually fine from the next day, once needle marks have closed.

You can sightsee the same day. Avoid saunas, the jjimjilbang and hot baths on the day. Skip alcohol and hard exercise on the day too. Tell Dr. Park your flight date, especially if you plan a course. Flying is usually comfortable after a skin booster, but a day of rest helps bumps settle. See our aftercare guide for travellers.

Why do I need three sessions of Belotero Revive?

A course builds hydration and texture gradually, which a single session cannot fully do. Skin often feels more hydrated after the first session. Fine lines and texture usually improve more as sessions add up. That is why 3 or more sessions, 2–4 weeks apart, are recommended. Our 3-session package reflects this. If you can only visit once, one session can still help hydration, but expectations should be modest. Some travellers plan sessions across repeat trips. Ask Dr. Park for a schedule that fits your stay.

Is Belotero Revive a filler?

No. It is a skin booster, not a volumising filler. Belotero Revive is made by Merz, which also makes Belotero fillers. The filler range adds shape and volume, while Revive is designed to improve hydration and skin quality. It contains hyaluronic acid with glycerol and is placed shallowly in small amounts. It will not fill folds, hollows or lips. If you need volume, Dr. Park may suggest a filler plan instead or alongside. She is a Belotero Key Doctor with Merz Korea and can explain the differences.

Can I combine Belotero Revive with laser or other boosters?

Often yes, but the order and timing matter. Some treatments are commonly paired with boosters, while others need a gap. For example, strong lasers can cause redness that makes injection marks harder to judge. Combining two boosters on one day may also increase swelling. Dr. Park plans combinations based on your skin, your goals and your travel dates. If firmness is also a concern, she may stage CellREDM alongside. Tell her about any treatment you had in the past month.
