Potenza delivers radiofrequency energy into the skin through fine microneedles. Tips and modes are chosen for your concerns, such as enlarged pores, acne scars and loss of firmness, so each treatment is tailored.

Quick answer: Potenza is a microneedle radiofrequency (RF) device that delivers heat through fine needles into the deeper skin layer, stimulating collagen remodelling to improve acne scars, enlarged pores and skin firmness. At Art of Shine Clinic in Seomyeon, Busan, it takes about 20–30 minutes after numbing, with about 3–7 days of skin recovery. Sessions repeat every 3–4 weeks. Packages start from KRW 289,000, with the tip charged separately (excl. 10% VAT).

What is Potenza?

Potenza combines microneedling with radiofrequency. Fine needles create tiny channels while RF energy heats the dermis, triggering the skin's wound-healing response and new collagen. Different tips and modes let your doctor adjust the depth and type of energy for scars, pores or overall firmness.

Some Potenza tips are designed to help deliver skin boosters into the channels during treatment, which is why it is often paired with Juvelook Skin or Exosome. For active, recurring acne, see Agnes.

How Potenza works

Microneedles carry RF energy below the surface, where controlled heat stimulates collagen and elastin remodelling. Over the following weeks, scars soften, pores look tighter and skin feels firmer.

  1. Consultation: your doctor assesses your scars, pores and skin quality and chooses the tip, mode and any booster.
  2. Treatment: after about 30 minutes of numbing cream, the handpiece is applied across the area for about 20–30 minutes.
  3. After: soothing care is applied. Redness and small marks settle over about 3–7 days, and the next session is usually in 3–4 weeks.

Why patients choose Potenza

  • Energy delivered deeper — RF reaches the dermis through microneedles.
  • Tailored tips and modes — settings chosen for each concern.
  • Several concerns at once — pores, acne scars and firmness together.
  • Pairs with boosters — can be combined with Juvelook Skin or exosomes.

Who is Potenza for — and when we suggest something else

Good candidates

  • People with rolling or boxcar acne scars on the cheeks or temples.
  • People with enlarged pores and uneven, bumpy skin texture.
  • People who want texture and firmness improved in the same course.
  • People whose active acne is mostly under control.
  • Anyone able to allow 3–7 days of visible recovery and repeat every 3–4 weeks.

We may suggest something else if…

  • You still have frequent, active breakouts. Accure Laser or Agnes may be used first to settle acne.
  • Your skin is mainly dry and dull rather than scarred. A skin booster such as Rejuran Healer may suit you better.
  • You have a pacemaker or other implanted electronic device. Radiofrequency treatments may not be suitable.
  • You are pregnant, have an active skin infection or a keloid tendency. Tell us so Dr. Park can advise.
  • You are taking or recently stopped oral isotretinoin. Dr. Park will discuss timing with you.

What happens at your Potenza session in Seomyeon

  1. Message us on WhatsApp first. Send photos of your scars or pores in side lighting. Mention acne medicines and any implanted devices.
  2. Consultation with Dr. Park. She assesses scar type, pore size and skin thickness. She then chooses the tip, mode and any booster to add.
  3. Preparation and numbing. Your face is cleansed and numbing cream is applied for about 30 minutes.
  4. The treatment. Microneedles deliver radiofrequency into the skin for about 20–30 minutes. You feel pricking and warmth, more over bony areas.
  5. Out the door and follow-up. Redness and small marks fade over about 3–7 days. Plan the next session in 3–4 weeks.

How Dr. Park plans your Potenza treatment

Tips and modes

Potenza uses interchangeable tips. Dr. Park chooses the tip and mode for your concern, whether scars, pores or firmness. Some packages use the N25 tip. Tips are charged separately from the listed package price.

Pumping with a booster

In pumping treatment, a skin booster is delivered through the microchannels during the session. Our packages pair Potenza with Juvelook Skin 2cc or 4cc, or with exosomes 3cc.

Building results

Collagen remodelling takes time. Sessions are spaced every 3–4 weeks, and our scar package offers 1 or 3 sessions. Depth is kept moderate on thin areas to keep results natural.

Potenza results: what to expect and when

  • Days 1–7: redness, mild swelling and small marks settle.
  • Weeks 2–4: skin can feel smoother and firmer.
  • After 3 or more sessions: scars and pores improve gradually as collagen builds.
  • Months 3–6: collagen remodelling continues. Results vary by person.

Side effects, risks and who should avoid Potenza

Potenza is a minimally invasive treatment. Possible side effects include:

  • Redness, swelling and small grid-like marks or scabs (usually settle within about 3–7 days)
  • Pinpoint bleeding or bruising
  • Dryness and flaking during recovery
  • Rarely, temporary darkening of the skin, infection or scarring

Not suitable if you: have a pacemaker or other implanted electronic device; are pregnant; have an active skin infection or cold sore in the area; tend to form keloid scars; or have a bleeding disorder. Tell your doctor about blood thinners and recent isotretinoin use.

Potenza vs Agnes, Juvelook Skin and Rejuran Healer: which should you choose?

These treatments overlap on texture but work differently.

Treatment How it works Best for Downtime Results last
Potenza Microneedles deliver radiofrequency into the dermis Acne scars, pores, firmness Skin recovery of about 3–7 days Varies by person; sessions every 3–4 weeks
Agnes Insulated needles deliver RF into individual oil glands Acne recurring in the same spots Skin recovery of about 3–7 days Varies by person; sessions every 3–4 weeks
Juvelook Skin PDLLA and hyaluronic acid booster supports collagen Texture, pores and fine lines Mild swelling or needle marks for 1–2 days Varies by person; 3+ sessions recommended
Rejuran Healer PN skin booster supports skin recovery Damaged, thin or tired skin Mild swelling or needle marks for 1–2 days Varies by person; 3+ sessions recommended

Choose Potenza for scars and pores that need structural change. Choose Agnes while acne is still active. Choose a skin booster alone when texture is mild and downtime must be minimal.

Aftercare after Potenza

  • Scabs or flaking may form during recovery; do not pick or peel them.
  • Protect your skin from UV thoroughly for 1–2 weeks after treatment.
  • Follow our team's guidance on washing and makeup on the day of treatment.
  • Avoid saunas, hot baths, strenuous exercise and alcohol for several days.
  • Use a regenerating cream and moisturiser generously.

Downtime after Potenza, and flying home

For the first 3–7 days expect redness, tiny grid marks and some flaking. Swelling is usually mild. Short sightseeing is fine, but protect your skin from UV for 1–2 weeks. Do not pick scabs or flakes, and use regenerating cream and moisturiser generously.

Avoid saunas, jjimjilbang, hot baths, hard exercise and alcohol for several days. Follow our guidance on washing and makeup on the day of treatment. Flying is generally fine, but cabin air is dry. Tell Dr. Park your flight date; many visitors plan Potenza early in the trip. Read our aftercare tips for travellers.

How many Potenza sessions do acne scars need?

Most acne scars need a course of sessions rather than one treatment. Collagen builds gradually over weeks. Each session adds to the last, which is why sessions are spaced every 3–4 weeks.

Shallow rolling scars often respond sooner than deep, narrow scars. Some deep scars may need other methods too. Our scar package is offered in 1 or 3 sessions. Dr. Park will estimate a realistic number after seeing your scars. Complete removal of scars cannot be promised.

What does "tip charged separately" mean for Potenza?

Potenza uses single-use tips that touch the skin. The tip cost is added on top of the listed package price. This is common for microneedle RF devices.

Different tips suit different concerns and areas. Dr. Park chooses the tip at your consultation, so the total depends on your plan. Ask on WhatsApp for the tip cost when you request a quote. That way the full amount is clear before you travel. Prices are in KRW, exclude 10% VAT and are paid at the clinic on the day.

Why add Juvelook Skin or exosomes to Potenza?

Potenza creates tiny channels in the skin. In pumping treatment, a booster is delivered through those channels during the session. This lets RF and the booster work in the same visit.

Juvelook Skin contains PDLLA and hyaluronic acid, which support collagen production. Exosome products are used to support skin recovery. Dr. Park chooses based on your skin goal and recovery time. The booster is optional. She will explain what each adds before you decide. The listed package prices already include the booster amounts named.

Is Potenza safe for darker or sensitive skin?

Microneedle RF delivers most energy below the surface. This can make it a reasonable option for many skin tones. However, any energy treatment carries some risk of dark marks after inflammation.

Dr. Park adjusts depth and energy to your skin type and sensitivity. Strict sun protection before and after treatment lowers the risk. Tell her if you tend to develop dark marks after spots or scratches. She may suggest gentler settings or a test area first. Avoid tanning in the weeks around your sessions.

Potenza FAQ

How much does Potenza cost in Busan?

At Art of Shine Clinic in Seomyeon, Potenza pumping treatment with exosomes 3cc or Juvelook Skin 2cc is KRW 289,000 per session. Potenza N25 with Juvelook Skin 4cc is KRW 390,000 (excl. 10% VAT). The tip is charged separately.

Does Potenza hurt?

Numbing cream is applied for about 30 minutes before treatment. You may still feel pricking and warmth, especially over bony areas, but most people find it manageable. The treatment takes about 20–30 minutes.

How many Potenza sessions do I need?

Acne scars and pores usually improve over a course of several sessions spaced 3–4 weeks apart, because collagen builds gradually. Your doctor will suggest a plan based on your skin. How long results last varies by person.

Can I go sightseeing or fly after Potenza?

You can go out the same day, but redness and small marks may be visible for a few days. Follow our washing and makeup guidance, protect your skin from UV, and avoid saunas, hot baths, hard exercise and alcohol for several days.

What is the difference between Potenza and Agnes?

Potenza treats a whole area with microneedle RF to remodel collagen for acne scars, pores and firmness. Agnes uses insulated needles to target individual oil glands behind recurring acne. Your doctor may recommend one or both depending on whether acne is active.

Who performs Potenza at Art of Shine Clinic?

Dr. Park Yoon-soo, our Head Director, assesses your scars and pores and chooses the tip and settings. She graduated from Kyungpook National University School of Medicine and completed her internship at Asan Medical Center.

Do I need a consultation before Potenza?

Yes. Dr. Park checks your skin, medicines and any implanted devices first. Ask on WhatsApp whether treatment can follow in the same visit, and allow time for 30 minutes of numbing.

Do foreign patients pay the listed Potenza price?

Listed prices are in KRW, exclude 10% VAT and are paid at the clinic on the day. The tip is extra. Event prices change, so confirm the current total on WhatsApp before booking.
