PRP separates platelet-rich plasma from a small sample of your own blood and injects it back into the skin. Growth factors from your platelets support skin renewal and collagen, with a low risk of irritation.
Quick answer: PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is a skin treatment that concentrates platelets from a small sample of your own blood and injects them into the skin, where their growth factors support renewal and collagen. At Art of Shine Clinic in Seomyeon, Busan, it takes about 20–30 minutes including the blood draw, with numbing cream and mild marks for 1–3 days. A series of 3 or more sessions is usually advised. Packages start from KRW 390,000 (excl. 10% VAT).

What is PRP?
PRP is an autologous treatment, meaning it uses material from your own body. A small amount of blood is drawn and spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma. Platelets contain growth factors involved in tissue repair, and injecting this plasma into the skin supports renewal and collagen production.
Because it comes from your own blood, allergic reactions to the material itself are unlikely, which is why it is often chosen for sensitive skin. At Art of Shine Clinic it is offered in our stem cell package with Skin Botox; you may also compare it with Stem Cell Skin Booster or Exosome.
How PRP works
Concentrated platelets release growth factors that signal skin cells to repair and renew. Over a series of treatments this can improve skin tone, texture and elasticity.
- Consultation: your doctor reviews your health and skin, then a small blood sample is taken.
- Treatment: the blood is spun to separate the PRP, numbing cream is applied, and the plasma is injected into the skin.
- After: you can return to daily life; sessions are repeated every 3–4 weeks, usually 3 or more times.
Why patients choose PRP
- Uses your own blood — a natural, autologous source with low irritation.
- Natural growth factors — supports skin repair and collagen production.
- Suitable for sensitive skin — a common choice for people who react to other products.
- Tone and texture together — improves overall skin quality over a series.
Who is PRP for — and when we suggest something else
Good candidates
- Your skin reacts easily to many products and you prefer an autologous option.
- You want gradual improvement in tone, texture and elasticity.
- You heal slowly and want a treatment with low irritation.
- You are comfortable with a routine blood draw.
- You can return for three or more sessions about 3–4 weeks apart.
We may suggest something else if…
- You faint easily with needles or cannot have blood drawn — Stem Cell Skin Booster needs no blood draw.
- You want hydration and glow quickly — Re2O or Water Glow Injection focus on moisture.
- You need repair for damaged, thin skin — Rejuran Healer is a common alternative.
- You have a blood or platelet disorder, take blood thinners, have an active infection, or are pregnant. Dr. Park will advise against PRP or ask you to wait.
What happens at your PRP session in Seomyeon
- Message us on WhatsApp first. Send us on WhatsApp (+82 10-2689-0370) a photo of your skin, your dates and any medicines you take, especially blood thinners.
- Consultation with Dr. Park. She reviews your skin, health history and medicines. She also checks that a blood draw is safe for you that day.
- Preparation and numbing. A small amount of blood is drawn and spun to separate the plasma. Meanwhile numbing cream sits on your face for about 20–30 minutes.
- The treatment. The whole visit, including draw, separation and injection, takes about 20–30 minutes. You feel light pricking and pressure.
- Out the door and follow-up. Mild swelling or needle marks can last 1–3 days. Plan your next session 3–4 weeks later.
How Dr. Park plans your PRP treatment
PRP is prepared fresh from your own blood at each visit. Dr. Park injects it in small, shallow amounts across the zones that need it most, often the cheeks and under the eyes.
Our listed package uses 3cc of PRP, combined with full-face skin Botox and a 2cc hydration injection. This pairs your own growth factors with hydration and fine-line care in one visit.
Sessions are spaced 3–4 weeks apart, and three or more are usually advised. Because PRP contains no added synthetic filler, results are subtle and natural by design.
PRP results: what to expect and when
- First 1–3 days: mild swelling, redness or needle marks settle.
- Weeks 2–4: skin may look fresher and feel more hydrated.
- After 3 sessions: texture, tone and elasticity show the clearest change.
- Ongoing: results vary by person; maintenance is planned with your doctor.
Results vary by person.
Side effects, risks and who should avoid PRP
PRP is generally well tolerated when performed by a doctor. Possible side effects include:
- Bruising at the blood-draw site or injection points
- Redness, mild swelling or tenderness for 1–3 days
- Small bumps or visible needle marks
- Rarely, infection — contact the clinic if redness or pain worsens
Not suitable if you: are pregnant or breastfeeding; have a blood or platelet disorder or low platelet count; take blood thinners; have an active skin infection in the area; have active cancer or are undergoing cancer treatment; or are unwell with a fever. Tell your doctor about all medications and medical conditions.
PRP vs Stem Cell Skin Booster, Exosome and Rejuran Healer: which should you choose?
All four aim at skin renewal, but their source materials differ.

Is PRP safe if it is made from my own blood?
Using your own blood removes the risk of an allergic reaction to the material itself. That is the main reason people with reactive skin choose PRP. It is still an injection, so bruising, swelling and, rarely, infection are possible. PRP is not suitable for everyone: platelet disorders, blood thinners and some illnesses rule it out. Tell Dr. Park about every medicine and supplement you take. She decides on the day whether a draw and injection are safe. If anything changes in your health between sessions, tell us before your next visit.
Can PRP be used for hair loss as well as skin?
PRP is used in many clinics for thinning hair, but this page covers our facial skin treatment. Scalp PRP uses a different plan, injection pattern and session schedule. If thinning hair is your concern, mention it on WhatsApp before your visit. Dr. Park can advise whether it is appropriate for you, or suggest our hair follicle nutrition injection. Hair results vary widely and depend on the cause of hair loss, which may need medical assessment. Sudden or patchy hair loss should be checked by a doctor first.
What should I eat or avoid before PRP?
Eat a normal meal and drink water beforehand; it makes the blood draw easier and reduces light-headedness. Avoid alcohol the day before and the day of treatment. Do not stop prescribed medicines on your own. Instead, tell Dr. Park what you take. Some supplements, such as fish oil, can increase bruising. If you have fainted during blood tests before, let us know so we can have you lying down for the draw. Wear a top with sleeves that roll up easily, and allow a few minutes to rest afterwards.
PRP FAQ
How much does PRP cost in Busan?
At Art of Shine Clinic in Seomyeon, our stem cell autologous blood PRP 3cc package is KRW 390,000 (excl. 10% VAT). It includes full-face Korean skin Botox, hydration injection 2cc and a soothing mask. Please confirm current offers on WhatsApp.
Does PRP hurt?
Numbing cream is applied for about 20–30 minutes first, so most people feel only light pricking and mild pressure. Sensitivity varies by area and person, and you can ask for a break at any time. The blood draw feels like a routine blood test.
How many PRP sessions do I need?
Most people are advised to have 3 or more PRP sessions about 3–4 weeks apart. Results build gradually as the skin renews, and how long they last varies with your age, skin condition and lifestyle.
Can I go sightseeing or fly after PRP?
Yes. Small bumps, redness or needle marks can last 1–3 days, but most people carry on with their day and can fly. Avoid saunas, hot baths, alcohol and hard exercise on the day, and tell your doctor about your travel dates.
What is the difference between PRP and a stem cell skin booster?
PRP uses platelet-rich plasma made from your own blood. A stem cell skin booster uses stem cell culture-derived ingredients prepared in advance, so no blood draw is needed. Both aim to support skin renewal, and your doctor can advise which suits you.
Who performs PRP at Art of Shine Clinic?
Dr. Park Yoon-soo, our Head Director, assesses you and performs the injections. She graduated from Kyungpook National University School of Medicine and completed her internship at Asan Medical Center.
How long does a PRP visit take in total?
Allow about 20–30 minutes for the blood draw, separation and injection, plus 20–30 minutes for numbing cream. Add time for consultation and check-in, and plan around our lunch break, 13:00–14:00.
Do foreign patients pay the listed PRP price?
Listed prices are in Korean won and exclude 10% VAT. Payment is made at the clinic on the day of your visit. Event prices change, so please confirm the current price on WhatsApp.
