Tear Trough Filler in Busan

#UnderEyeHollowCare · #DarkCircleCare · #LessTiredLook · #BrighterUnderEye

Tear trough filler uses hyaluronic acid to fill the under-eye hollows that cast shadows and make you look tired. As the hollow softens, the eye area looks brighter and more rested.

Quick answer: Tear trough filler places a small amount of soft hyaluronic acid in the hollow between the lower eyelid and cheek, reducing the shadow that makes eyes look tired. At Art of Shine Clinic in Seomyeon, Busan, it takes about 10–20 minutes after numbing cream, with mild swelling possible. Results usually last about 9–12 months. Korean under-eye filler is from KRW 150,000 (excl. 10% VAT). It does not treat dark circles caused by pigment.

What is Tear Trough Filler?

The tear trough is the groove that runs from the inner corner of the eye down towards the cheek. When it deepens with age or because of your bone structure, it casts a shadow that looks like a dark circle. Tear trough filler places a soft hyaluronic acid gel carefully in this area to smooth the transition between the lower eyelid and cheek.

It improves shadow-type dark circles, not those caused by pigment or visible veins. It is different from aegyo-sal filler, which creates a plump roll just under the lash line. Because under-eye skin is thin, careful technique matters, and HA can be dissolved if needed (see filler dissolving).

How Tear Trough Filler works

A small amount of soft gel is placed deep under the hollow, often with a blunt cannula, to lift the groove from beneath. This reduces the shadow, so the under-eye looks smoother and brighter.

  1. Consultation: your doctor checks whether your dark circles are caused by hollowness, pigment or puffiness, as filler helps only hollowness.
  2. Treatment: after numbing cream, small amounts of filler are placed with a cannula or fine needle in about 10–20 minutes.
  3. After: your doctor checks symmetry; mild swelling or bruising may appear and usually fades within days.

Why patients choose Tear Trough Filler

  • Fills under-eye hollows — softens the groove between eyelid and cheek.
  • Reduces shadow-type dark circles — less of the tired, shadowed look.
  • A brighter eye area — a smoother, more rested appearance.
  • Quick and reversible — about 10–20 minutes, and HA can be dissolved.

Who is Tear Trough Filler for — and when we suggest something else

Good candidates

  • You have a visible hollow between the lower lid and cheek that casts a shadow.
  • People often say you look tired, even when you have slept well.
  • Your dark circles look lighter when you tilt your face up to a light.
  • Your under-eye skin is reasonably firm, without large puffy bags.
  • You want a subtle, brighter eye area rather than a dramatic change.
  • You can avoid rubbing your eyes for the first days.

We may suggest something else if…

  • Your dark circles are brown pigment rather than shadow. Filler will not change pigment; Pico Toning may be considered.
  • You have prominent under-eye bags or puffiness. Filler can make these look worse, so we may advise against it.
  • You want a plump roll under the lashes when you smile. That is Aegyo-sal Filler, a different area.
  • You have lots of fine crepey lines under the eyes. A skin booster such as Rejuran Healer targets skin quality instead.
  • You have an eye infection, recent eye surgery or are pregnant. We wait and may ask you to check with your eye doctor.

What happens at your Tear Trough Filler session in Seomyeon

  1. Message us on WhatsApp first. Send a photo straight on in daylight and one looking slightly up, without makeup. Mention any eye surgery or past under-eye filler.
  2. Consultation with Dr. Park. She checks whether your dark circles come from a hollow, pigment or puffiness. She also assesses skin thickness and lower-lid laxity.
  3. Preparation & numbing. Numbing cream is applied for about 20–30 minutes. The hollow is marked while you sit upright.
  4. The treatment. Injecting takes about 10–20 minutes. Small amounts go in slowly, and you feel pressure rather than sharp pain.
  5. Out the door & follow-up. You can return to your day; mild swelling or bruising is possible. Message us urgently about vision change or severe pain.

How Dr. Park plans your Tear Trough Filler treatment

Under-eye skin is thin, so the plan is about precision and restraint. Dr. Park first confirms that a hollow is the cause, not pigment or fluid.

Depth and amount

Filler is placed in small amounts, usually deeper rather than right under the skin. Superficial filler here can show as a bluish tint or a visible ridge. She blends the hollow into the cheek so there is no sharp line.

Our listed option and timing

Our listed option is the Lovely Under-Eye Filler (Korean). She confirms the amount after examining you. Results usually last about 9–12 months, so repeat treatment is typically every 9–12 months. Some patients also need Aegyo-sal Filler for balance, but only if it suits the eye shape.

Tear trough filler results: what to expect and when

  • Immediately: the change is visible as soon as treatment ends, often with some swelling.
  • Days 2–7: swelling and any bruising settle.
  • Weeks 2–4: the filler settles and softens; this is the right time to judge the result.
  • Months 9–12: the filler is gradually absorbed and a top-up can maintain the result. Timing varies by person.

Side effects, risks and who should avoid tear trough filler

Hyaluronic acid filler is generally well tolerated when performed by a doctor. Possible side effects include:

  • Swelling, redness, tenderness or bruising at the injection sites (usually settles within a few days)
  • Small lumps or slight unevenness, which often soften as the filler settles
  • Bruising is more likely because under-eye skin is thin
  • Puffiness or a faint bluish tint if filler sits too close to the surface (can be corrected by dissolving)
  • Rarely, infection, an allergic reaction or delayed lumps
  • Very rarely, filler can block a blood vessel. Contact the clinic or seek urgent care immediately for severe pain, skin colour changes or changes in vision

Not suitable if you: are pregnant or breastfeeding; have an infection, cold sore or inflamed skin in the area; are allergic to hyaluronic acid filler ingredients or local anaesthetics such as lidocaine; have a history of severe allergic reactions; or have a bleeding disorder. Filler may not suit you if you have large under-eye bags or frequent fluid puffiness. Tell your doctor about all medications, especially blood thinners, and any previous filler or surgery in the area.

Tear trough filler vs aegyo-sal filler and Rejuran: which should you choose?

All three treat the under-eye area, but each answers a different concern.

Treatment How it works Best for Downtime Results last
Tear Trough Filler Hyaluronic acid fills the hollow below the eye Shadow-type dark circles from a hollow Immediate return; mild swelling possible About 9–12 months
Aegyo-sal Filler Hyaluronic acid creates a plump roll under the lashes A rounder, softer smiling eye Immediate return; mild swelling possible About 9–12 months
Rejuran Healer PN skin booster supports skin repair Thin, crepey under-eye skin Mild swelling or needle marks for 1–2 days Varies; 3+ sessions recommended

Choose tear trough filler if a hollow causes your shadow. Choose aegyo-sal filler if you want a soft roll when smiling. Choose Rejuran if thin, lined skin is the main problem.

Downtime after Tear Trough Filler, and flying home

The under-eye area bruises easily, so a small bruise in the first 24–72 hours is not unusual. Mild puffiness can also show, especially in the morning. Do not rub your eyes or press on the area. Eye makeup and concealer are usually fine from the next day, applied gently.

Sightseeing is fine the same day; sunglasses help if you are bruised. Avoid saunas, the jjimjilbang and strong heat for 1–2 weeks. Skip alcohol and hard exercise on the day. Tell Dr. Park your flight date at consultation. If possible, keep a day or two before a long flight so we can check you. See our aftercare tips for travellers.

Will tear trough filler fix my dark circles?

Only if your dark circles are caused by a hollow casting a shadow. Dark circles have several causes: hollowing, brown pigment, visible blood vessels or puffiness. Filler improves the hollow-and-shadow type. It does not lighten pigment or reduce bags. A simple test is to look up toward a light. If the darkness fades, a hollow is likely involved. Many people have more than one cause. Dr. Park explains which type you have before suggesting anything. If pigment is the main issue, she may discuss a laser such as Pico Toning instead.

Why does under-eye filler sometimes look blue or puffy?

This usually comes from filler placed too close to the surface, or too much product. Thin skin can show filler as a bluish tint, sometimes called the Tyndall effect. Hyaluronic acid also attracts some water, which can add puffiness if the amount is large. Careful depth, small amounts and choosing the right patient reduce these risks. If you already have puffiness or bags, filler may not suit you. Because it is hyaluronic acid, problem filler can usually be dissolved. Dr. Park may suggest Filler Dissolving for old filler before any new plan.

Is tear trough filler safe so close to the eye?

It is commonly performed, but the area needs a careful, experienced approach. Common effects are mild swelling and bruising that fade over days. A rare but serious risk is filler affecting a blood vessel. Warning signs include severe pain, skin colour change or any change in vision. These need urgent attention, so contact the clinic or seek emergency care immediately. Dr. Park injects slowly, in small amounts, and checks your history first. Tell her about any eye surgery, eye conditions or blood thinners. Ask how she manages complications before you decide.

Tear Trough Filler FAQ

How much does tear trough filler cost in Busan?

Lovely Under-Eye Filler (Korean) is KRW 150,000 at Art of Shine Clinic in Seomyeon, reduced from KRW 259,000 as an AOS Aesthetic Package (excl. 10% VAT). Your doctor will confirm the amount you need after examining your under-eye area.

Does tear trough filler hurt?

Numbing cream is applied for about 20–30 minutes first, and many fillers also contain a local anaesthetic. Most people feel pressure and mild stinging rather than sharp pain. The injections take about 10–20 minutes, and tenderness usually settles within a day or two.

How long does tear trough filler last?

Tear trough filler usually lasts about 9–12 months. The under-eye moves relatively little, so a small amount can last well, but results vary with metabolism and lifestyle. Most people repeat treatment every 9–12 months to maintain the result.

Can I go sightseeing or fly after tear trough filler?

Most people return to their day straight away. Under-eye bruising or swelling can last a few days, so concealer may help for photos. Avoid rubbing your eyes, saunas, alcohol and hard exercise on the day. Mention any flight plans during your consultation.

What is the difference between tear trough filler and aegyo-sal filler?

Tear trough filler fills the hollow lower down, between the eyelid and cheek, to reduce shadows. Aegyo-sal filler adds a small, plump roll just beneath the lash line that shows when you smile. They treat different areas, and some patients have both.

Who performs tear trough filler at your clinic?

The consultation happens on the day, before treatment. Dr. Park checks whether filler suits your under-eyes and may advise against it. Sending photos on WhatsApp first helps us tell you if it is likely to suit you.

Can I wear contact lenses after tear trough filler?

Ask Dr. Park about this on the day, as it depends on swelling and how you handle your lenses. Avoid pulling or pressing on the lower lid in the first days. Bring your glasses as a backup.
