What is Cinderella Injection?

The Cinderella injection is the popular Korean name for an IV drip whose main ingredient is alpha-lipoic acid (also called thioctic acid), an antioxidant that takes part in the body's energy metabolism. Depending on the formula, vitamins may be added to the drip.

At Art of Shine Clinic it is offered as wellness care for people who feel run-down or whose skin looks dull and tired. It is not a treatment for any disease. If brightening is your main goal, you can also compare the Baekok (Glutathione) Injection or the Vitamin C Injection.

How Cinderella Injection works

Alpha-lipoic acid is an antioxidant that helps neutralise free radicals and is involved in turning food into energy. Giving it through a vein delivers it directly into the bloodstream instead of relying on absorption from the gut.

  1. Consultation: the doctor reviews your health, medications and allergies and confirms the injection suits you.
  2. Treatment: a fine IV line is placed in your arm and the drip runs for about 30–40 minutes while you rest in a reclining chair.
  3. After: you rest briefly, then return to your day. Drink plenty of water.
How Cinderella Injection works: intravenous drip explained in a simple diagram

Why patients choose Cinderella Injection

  • Antioxidant care — alpha-lipoic acid helps counter oxidative stress.
  • Skin and energy together — chosen by people who want to look and feel less tired.
  • Relaxing format — you simply rest while the drip runs.
  • No downtime — easy to fit into a busy day or a trip to Busan.

Who is Cinderella Injection for — and when we suggest something else

Good candidates

  • You feel run-down and want an antioxidant drip as part of regular wellness care
  • Your skin looks dull or tired after long work weeks, travel or poor sleep
  • You want to feel more refreshed before a wedding, shoot or important meeting
  • You can sit still for 30–40 minutes while the drip runs
  • You are generally healthy and have no allergy to alpha-lipoic acid
  • You like a steady routine of sessions every 1–2 weeks

We may suggest something else if…

  • Your main goal is a brighter skin tone — the glutathione-based Baekok (Glutathione) Injection is usually the closer match
  • You only have ten minutes — the Garlic Injection (Vitamin B1) is a much shorter vitamin B1 injection
  • You hope to lose weight — this drip is not a weight-loss medicine; ask about Mounjaro or Wegovy instead
  • You take insulin or tablets that lower blood sugar — alpha-lipoic acid can lower glucose, so the doctor reviews this first
  • You are pregnant, breastfeeding or unwell with a fever on the day — we wait

What happens at your Cinderella Injection session in Seomyeon

  1. Message us on WhatsApp first. Send your preferred date, any medical conditions and the medicines you take. Mention diabetes clearly, because it changes how we plan this drip.
  2. Consultation with Dr. Park. She checks your health history, allergies and how you have been feeling. She also confirms the Cinderella drip suits your goal better than other options.
  3. Preparation. No numbing is needed. A fine IV needle is placed in a vein on your arm, which feels like a quick pinch.
  4. The drip. The drip runs for about 30–40 minutes while you rest in a reclining chair. Most people read, nap or use their phone.
  5. Out the door & follow-up. There is no downtime, so you can leave straight away once you feel steady. Message us if bruising or dizziness bothers you, or to book your next session in 1–2 weeks.

How Dr. Park plans your Cinderella Injection treatment

Dr. Park starts with your reason for coming. Tiredness, dull skin and low energy can have many causes. If something points to a medical problem, she will suggest proper tests rather than a drip.

The Cinderella drip is based on alpha-lipoic acid, an antioxidant involved in energy metabolism. It is given slowly as a drip rather than a fast push, which most people find more comfortable. If you have diabetes, she reviews your medicines first and may suggest eating before you come.

Frequency is your choice, guided by her advice. Many people come every 1–2 weeks. The clinic lists a single AOS Nutrient IV Infusion. It also lists Customized Nutrient Injections: 10 Sessions. So you can try one drip before committing.

Cinderella Injection results: what to expect and when

  • During the drip: most people simply relax; some notice a mild warmth or a faint taste.
  • Same day to next day: some people report feeling refreshed — this varies by person.
  • With regular sessions: people who repeat the drip every 1–2 weeks often use it as ongoing condition care.
  • Ongoing: effects are not permanent and are not the same for everyone.

Side effects, risks and who should avoid Cinderella Injection

IV nutrient drips are generally well tolerated. Possible side effects include:

  • Bruising, tenderness or mild swelling where the needle or cannula was placed
  • Light-headedness, especially if you have not eaten
  • Rarely, irritation of the vein or an allergic reaction (rash, itching, breathing difficulty — tell staff immediately)
  • Mild nausea, or a drop in blood sugar in people with diabetes, as alpha-lipoic acid can lower blood glucose

Not suitable if you: are pregnant or breastfeeding; are allergic to alpha-lipoic acid or any ingredient; have diabetes and take glucose-lowering medication (tell the doctor first); have significant kidney, liver or heart disease; or feel unwell or feverish on the day. Tell your doctor about all medications.

Cinderella Injection vs Baekok and Vitamin C injections: which should you choose?

All three are short nutrient treatments with no downtime, but each has a different focus.

Treatment How it works Best for Downtime Results last
Cinderella Injection Alpha-lipoic acid antioxidant drip Tiredness plus dull skin None Varies by individual
Baekok (Glutathione) Injection Glutathione IV injection Brighter-looking skin tone None Varies by individual
Vitamin C Injection High-dose IV vitamin C Antioxidant and immune support None Varies by individual

Choose the Cinderella injection if fatigue and dull skin bother you together and you have time for a 30–40 minute drip. Choose Baekok if tone is your main concern. Choose vitamin C if you want a quick 5–10 minute antioxidant top-up.

Aftercare after Cinderella Injection

  • Drink plenty of water after your treatment.
  • A small bruise or swelling may appear where the needle went in; it usually fades within a few days.
  • Avoid heavy drinking and strenuous exercise on the day of treatment.
  • If you feel dizzy or unwell, rest at the clinic until you feel steady before leaving.
  • If any discomfort persists, contact the clinic on WhatsApp.

Downtime after Cinderella Injection, and flying home

The Cinderella drip has no downtime. In the first 24 hours you may see a small bruise where the needle went in. Drink plenty of water, and avoid heavy drinking and hard exercise on the day. If you feel light-headed, rest at the clinic before heading out.

You can go sightseeing straight after your drip, and makeup is fine. A sauna or jjimjilbang is better left until the next day so you stay well hydrated. Flying is usually fine the same day or the next. Tell Dr. Park your flight date anyway, and read our aftercare tips for travellers.

Is the Cinderella injection good for weight loss?

No — the Cinderella injection is not a weight-loss treatment. It is sometimes marketed that way, but alpha-lipoic acid is an antioxidant used here for fatigue and skin condition care. Any effect on weight is small and not something we promise.

If weight management is your real goal, a doctor-led plan is more appropriate. At Art of Shine Clinic that means a medical assessment for prescription options such as Mounjaro or Wegovy. For a stubborn local area, Dr. Park may discuss the Carina Injection. Ask her which, if any, fits your health and goals.

Can I have the Cinderella injection if I have diabetes?

Possibly, but only after Dr. Park has reviewed your medicines. Alpha-lipoic acid can lower blood sugar. If you also take insulin or tablets that lower glucose, the combination may push your sugar too low.

Tell us about diabetes when you message on WhatsApp. Bring a list of your medicines and, if you have it, a recent blood sugar reading. Eat a normal meal before your appointment. During and after the drip, tell staff straight away if you feel shaky, sweaty or confused. Dr. Park may suggest a different nutrient option instead.

Why does the Cinderella injection take longer than the other nutrient shots?

Because it is given as a slow drip, not a quick injection. The garlic, licorice and vitamin C injections take about 5–10 minutes. The Cinderella drip takes about 30–40 minutes.

Running alpha-lipoic acid slowly is generally more comfortable for the vein and for your stomach. It also gives staff time to watch how you feel. Plan your day around this. If you are short on time before a flight or tour, ask on WhatsApp whether a shorter injection suits you better that day.
