Garlic Injection (Vitamin B1) in Busan
#FatigueRecoveryInjection · #VitaminB1 · #EnergyBoost · #SleepSupport
The garlic injection delivers a vitamin B1 derivative straight into the vein and is one of Korea's most familiar injections for tiredness. Vitamin B1 helps your body turn food into energy, so it is a popular quick pick-me-up.
Quick answer: The garlic injection is an IV injection of a vitamin B1 (thiamine) derivative, named after the garlic-like taste some people notice during it. It is used as wellness care for tiredness and low energy. At Art of Shine Clinic in Seomyeon, Busan, it takes about 5–10 minutes, needs no numbing and has no downtime; how long you feel it varies. The nutrient IV event is from KRW 29,000 (excl. 10% VAT).

What is Garlic Injection (Vitamin B1)?
Vitamin B1 (thiamine) is a water-soluble vitamin your body needs to turn carbohydrates into energy. The garlic injection uses a thiamine derivative designed to be absorbed and used well by the body. The nickname comes from the garlic-like smell or taste that many people briefly notice while it is being given.
At Art of Shine Clinic it is offered as quick condition care for people who feel tired, stressed or run-down. It does not treat any disease, and ongoing fatigue should be checked by a doctor. You can combine or compare it with the Cinderella Injection or the Licorice Injection (Glycyrrhizin).
How Garlic Injection (Vitamin B1) works
Thiamine is a co-factor for enzymes that release energy from glucose. Giving it intravenously bypasses the gut, so the vitamin reaches the bloodstream directly. Because the dose is small in volume, it is given in a few minutes.
- Consultation: the doctor reviews your health, medications and allergies and confirms the injection suits you.
- Treatment: the injection is given slowly into a vein in your arm over about 5–10 minutes. You may notice a garlic-like taste that passes quickly.
- After: you rest briefly, then return to your day. Drink plenty of water.
Why patients choose Garlic Injection (Vitamin B1)
- Vitamin B1 support — thiamine is essential for energy metabolism.
- Very quick — the injection itself takes only about 5–10 minutes.
- No downtime — fits into a lunch break or a sightseeing day.
- Easy to combine — can be paired with other nutrient injections on the doctor's advice.
Who is the Garlic Injection for — and when we suggest something else
Good candidates
- You feel worn out from long hours, overtime or stress
- You want a quick wellness injection that fits into a lunch break
- You notice low energy or sluggishness and want simple condition care
- You do not mind a brief garlic-like taste during the injection
- You have no known allergy to vitamin B1 (thiamine) or its derivatives
We may suggest something else if…
- You want an antioxidant drip for dull skin as well as tiredness — the Cinderella Injection may suit you better
- You mainly want a brighter skin tone — try the Baekok (Glutathione) Injection
- Your tiredness is severe, new or comes with weight loss, breathlessness or low mood — Dr. Park will suggest a proper medical check first
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding — ask the doctor before any injection
What happens at your Garlic Injection session in Seomyeon
- Message us on WhatsApp first. Tell us the day you want to come, any allergies and your regular medicines. If you are pressed for time, say so — this is one of our quickest visits.
- Consultation with Dr. Park. She asks how long you have felt tired and checks your health history. She wants to make sure nothing needs further tests.
- Preparation. No numbing is needed. A fine needle goes into a vein on your arm with a quick pinch.
- The injection. It takes about 5–10 minutes. Many people notice a garlic-like taste or a warm feeling along the vein, which fades within minutes.
- Out the door & follow-up. There is no downtime. Sit for a moment if you feel light-headed, then carry on with your day. Many people repeat it every 1–2 weeks.
How Dr. Park plans your Garlic Injection treatment
Finding the reason for your tiredness
Dr. Park first asks about sleep, work, diet and alcohol. Vitamin B1 helps the body turn food into energy. A top-up can feel supportive, but it cannot fix poor sleep or an untreated illness.
Speed and comfort
The injection is given slowly over about 5–10 minutes. Going slowly makes the garlic taste and warm sensation easier to tolerate.
Building a routine
The clinic lists the garlic injection in the single AOS Nutrient IV Infusion and in Customized Nutrient Injections: 10 Sessions. Most people space sessions 1–2 weeks apart. Dr. Park may suggest alternating with another nutrient, such as the Vitamin C Injection, if your goals change.
Garlic Injection (Vitamin B1) results: what to expect and when
- During the injection: a brief garlic-like taste or smell is common and fades within minutes.
- Same day: some people report feeling more energetic — this varies by person.
- With regular sessions: some people repeat it every 1–2 weeks as ongoing condition care.
- Ongoing: effects are temporary and not the same for everyone.
Side effects, risks and who should avoid Garlic Injection (Vitamin B1)
The garlic injection is generally well tolerated. Possible side effects include:
- Bruising, tenderness or mild swelling where the needle or cannula was placed
- Light-headedness, especially if you have not eaten
- Rarely, irritation of the vein or an allergic reaction (rash, itching, breathing difficulty — tell staff immediately)
- A temporary garlic-like taste or smell, or a warm feeling in the vein
Not suitable if you: are allergic to vitamin B1 (thiamine) or its derivatives; are pregnant or breastfeeding (ask the doctor first); have significant kidney, liver or heart disease; or feel unwell or feverish on the day. Tell your doctor about all medications.
Garlic Injection vs Cinderella and Licorice injections: which should you choose?
These three all target general condition, but they differ in ingredient and time.
| Treatment | How it works | Best for | Downtime | Results last |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Garlic Injection | Vitamin B1 (thiamine) derivative into a vein | Fatigue and low energy | None | Varies by individual |
| Cinderella Injection | Alpha-lipoic acid antioxidant drip | Fatigue plus dull skin | None | Varies by individual |
| Licorice Injection (Glycyrrhizin) | Glycyrrhizin from licorice root | Liver strain and skin trouble | None | Varies by individual |
Choose the garlic injection if you want the quickest energy-focused option. Choose Cinderella if you also care about skin and have 30–40 minutes. Choose licorice if frequent drinking or skin trouble is your main concern.

Downtime after the Garlic Injection, and flying home
Most people feel normal within minutes. The garlic taste usually fades soon after the injection ends. Over the next day or two you might see a small bruise on your arm. Drink water and skip heavy drinking and intense workouts on the day.
You can head straight out to sightsee around Seomyeon, wear makeup and eat as normal. If tiredness is a big issue on your trip, the 30–40 minute Cinderella Injection is another option. Save the sauna or jjimjilbang for the next day. Flying is generally fine, even on the same day. Still, tell Dr. Park your flight time so she can plan around it. More advice is in our aftercare tips for travellers.

Does the garlic injection help with jet lag?
It is not a proven jet-lag treatment. Jet lag comes from your body clock being out of sync, and vitamin B1 does not reset that clock.
Some travellers still like a quick nutrient injection after a long flight as part of feeling refreshed. If you try it, combine it with daylight, water, light meals and a sensible bedtime in Busan time. If you feel very unwell after travel, with fever or breathlessness, see a doctor rather than booking a wellness injection. Dr. Park can tell you whether the injection makes sense on the day.
Is a vitamin B1 injection better than taking B vitamin tablets?
Not necessarily. For most healthy people who eat a varied diet, tablets or food provide enough vitamin B1.
An injection delivers the vitamin straight into the bloodstream, so absorption from the gut does not matter. Some people simply prefer a quick clinic visit to remembering daily tablets. It is not a substitute for treating a real deficiency, which needs medical assessment. Heavy drinkers and people with some gut conditions are more likely to run low on vitamin B1. Ask Dr. Park which approach fits your diet, health and routine. She may suggest both, or neither.
Who should not have the garlic injection?
Anyone allergic to vitamin B1 or its derivatives should not have it. If you have ever reacted to a vitamin injection, tell us before booking.
Dr. Park also takes extra care if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have serious kidney, liver or heart disease, or feel feverish on the day. In those cases she may postpone or suggest another approach. Always bring an up-to-date list of your medicines and supplements to the consultation. If you feel faint, itchy or short of breath during any injection, tell staff at once. They will stop and look after you.

How much is the garlic injection in Busan?

Why is it called a garlic injection?
It contains a vitamin B1 derivative that gives many people a brief garlic-like taste or smell while it is injected. There is no garlic in it. The sensation usually fades within a few minutes of the injection finishing.
Does the garlic injection hurt?
You feel a quick pinch as the fine needle goes into the vein. Some people notice a warm sensation along the vein. The injection takes about 5–10 minutes and does not need any numbing.
Can I go sightseeing after the garlic injection?
Yes. There is no downtime, so you can carry on exploring Busan right away. Drink water, avoid heavy drinking and hard exercise on the day, and rest before leaving if you feel light-headed.
Garlic injection or Cinderella injection?

Can I combine the garlic injection with another treatment?
Often, yes. Because it takes only 5–10 minutes, people sometimes add it to another appointment. Dr. Park decides whether a combination is sensible on the day; each item is priced separately.
