What is Vitamin C Injection?
Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is an antioxidant that your body cannot make. It is needed to build collagen and supports normal immune function. Giving it into a vein achieves much higher blood levels than taking it by mouth.
At Art of Shine Clinic the vitamin C injection is offered as condition and skin care for people who feel run-down or want a clearer-looking complexion. It does not replace a healthy diet or treat disease. For brightening, many patients also consider the Baekok (Glutathione) Injection or Pico Toning for pigmentation.
How Vitamin C Injection works
Vitamin C neutralises free radicals and is a co-factor in collagen synthesis. Intravenous delivery bypasses the gut's limited absorption, so blood levels rise much higher than with tablets. The doctor sets the dose based on your health.
- Consultation: the doctor reviews your health, medications and allergies and confirms the injection suits you.
- Treatment: vitamin C is given into a vein in your arm over about 5–10 minutes.
- After: you rest briefly, then return to your day. Drink plenty of water.
Why patients choose Vitamin C Injection
- High-dose antioxidant — IV delivery reaches levels tablets cannot.
- Immune support — vitamin C supports normal immune function.
- Skin tone and collagen — vitamin C is needed for collagen production.
- Quick, no downtime — about 5–10 minutes and you are on your way.
Who is Vitamin C Injection for — and when we suggest something else
Good candidates
- You want antioxidant support during a busy, stressful period
- You are interested in immune and general condition care
- You want to support a brighter-looking skin tone
- You prefer a fast 5–10 minute visit
- You have no G6PD deficiency, kidney disease or kidney stones
We may suggest something else if…
- Skin tone is your only goal — glutathione in the Baekok (Glutathione) Injection is the more common choice
- Pigmentation or spots bother you — laser care such as Pico Toning targets them directly
- You have G6PD deficiency, kidney disease, kidney stones or iron overload — high-dose vitamin C is not appropriate
- You have a fever or acute infection — see a doctor for proper treatment first
What happens at your Vitamin C Injection session in Seomyeon
- Message us on WhatsApp first. Tell us your preferred time and any kidney problems, kidney stones or known G6PD deficiency. Share your current medicines too.
- Consultation with Dr. Park. She checks for G6PD deficiency, kidney history and iron overload. She confirms vitamin C fits your goals.
- Preparation. No numbing is needed. A fine needle is placed in a vein on your arm.
- The injection. It takes about 5–10 minutes. Some people feel a cool or slightly stinging sensation along the vein.
- Out the door & follow-up. There is no downtime. You may feel thirsty or need the toilet afterwards; drink water. Many people repeat every 1–2 weeks.
How Dr. Park plans your Vitamin C Injection treatment
Dr. Park sets the dose for you rather than using one amount for everyone. She considers your body size, kidney health and why you want the injection. Screening for G6PD deficiency and kidney problems comes first.
The injection is given slowly over 5–10 minutes to keep the vein comfortable. It is available as the single AOS Nutrient IV Infusion or within Customized Nutrient Injections: 10 Sessions.
For skin tone, she may suggest pairing it with other care rather than relying on one injection. Results are subtle and vary. Sessions are usually 1–2 weeks apart.
Vitamin C Injection results: what to expect and when
- During the injection: some people notice a cool feeling or a slight taste.
- First days: some people report feeling refreshed — this varies by person.
- After several sessions: regular sessions every 1–2 weeks are typical for skin-tone care.
- Ongoing: effects are temporary and differ from person to person.
Side effects, risks and who should avoid Vitamin C Injection
High-dose vitamin C is generally well tolerated. Possible side effects include:
- Bruising, tenderness or mild swelling where the needle or cannula was placed
- Light-headedness, especially if you have not eaten
- Rarely, irritation of the vein or an allergic reaction (rash, itching, breathing difficulty — tell staff immediately)
- Thirst, a need to urinate, or mild nausea after the injection
Not suitable if you: have G6PD deficiency (high-dose vitamin C can cause red blood cell breakdown); have kidney disease or a history of kidney stones; have iron overload (haemochromatosis); are pregnant or breastfeeding (ask the doctor first); or are allergic to any ingredient. Tell your doctor about all medications.
Vitamin C Injection vs Baekok and Cinderella injections: which should you choose?
These antioxidant options are often confused, so here is how they differ.
| Treatment | How it works | Best for | Downtime | Results last |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Vitamin C Injection | High-dose vitamin C into a vein | Antioxidant and immune support | None | Varies by individual |
| Baekok (Glutathione) Injection | Glutathione IV injection | Brighter-looking skin tone | None | Varies by individual |
| Cinderella Injection | Alpha-lipoic acid antioxidant drip | Fatigue plus dull skin | None | Varies by individual |
Choose vitamin C for quick antioxidant and immune care. Choose Baekok if skin brightness matters most. Choose Cinderella if tiredness is a big part of the picture and you have 30–40 minutes.

Does a vitamin C injection help when I have a cold?
It is not a treatment for colds or flu. Evidence that high-dose vitamin C shortens a cold is weak.
If you have a fever, cough or sore throat, rest and see a doctor for proper care. We usually postpone injections when you are unwell. Vitamin C injections are better seen as routine antioxidant and condition care when you are healthy. Sleep, fluids and good food matter more for recovery. Dr. Park can advise whether an injection makes sense at all during a busy travel schedule. If you feel run-down rather than ill, she may suggest the Garlic Injection (Vitamin B1).
Why does the doctor ask about G6PD deficiency?
Because high-dose vitamin C can cause red blood cells to break down in people with G6PD deficiency. This is called haemolysis and can be serious.
G6PD deficiency is an inherited condition. It is more common in people with African, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern or Asian ancestry. Many people do not know they have it. If you have ever been told you react to certain medicines or foods such as fava beans, tell Dr. Park. She may recommend testing or a different option.
Can I combine a vitamin C injection with laser toning?
Often, yes, but they work in different ways. Laser toning targets pigment in the skin, while the injection is whole-body antioxidant care.
Some people book both on the same trip, for example with Pico Toning. Dr. Park decides whether combining them suits your skin and health. Each treatment is priced separately. Some people also ask about Brighton Toning for tone. If you are prone to pigmentation, daily sunscreen matters more than any injection. Avoid strong sun for a few days after laser care.
Vitamin C Injection FAQ
How much is a vitamin C injection in Busan?
At Art of Shine Clinic in Seomyeon, the AOS Nutrient IV Infusion autumn event lets you choose one injection, including vitamin C, for KRW 29,000 per session. A 10-session customised nutrient package is KRW 290,000. Prices exclude 10% VAT.
Does the vitamin C injection hurt?
You feel a brief pinch as the fine needle enters the vein, and some people feel a cool or slightly stinging sensation along the vein. The injection takes about 5–10 minutes and needs no numbing.
Who should not have high-dose vitamin C?
People with G6PD deficiency, kidney disease, a history of kidney stones or iron overload should not have high-dose IV vitamin C without specific medical advice. The doctor checks your history before treatment.
Can I sightsee or fly after a vitamin C injection?
Yes. There is no downtime, so you can continue your day in Busan or travel. Drink plenty of water, avoid heavy drinking and hard exercise on the day, and rest first if you feel light-headed.
Vitamin C injection or Baekok (glutathione) injection?
Both are antioxidants. Vitamin C supports collagen production and immune function, while glutathione is usually chosen for skin brightening. Many people alternate them; the doctor can recommend a plan for your goals.
Is the vitamin C injection the same as eating more fruit?
No. An injection gives a much higher blood level for a short time than food can. That is also why Dr. Park screens for kidney problems and G6PD deficiency first.
Can I book a vitamin C injection the same day?
Message us on WhatsApp on +82 10-2689-0370 to check availability. The clinic is open Mon–Fri 10:00–20:00 and Sat 10:00–16:00 (closed Sundays and 13:00–14:00 for lunch). The visit itself is short.
Who reviews me before the injection?
Dr. Park Yoon-soo, Head Director of Art of Shine Clinic, reviews your health first. She graduated from Kyungpook National University School of Medicine and interned at Asan Medical Center. She checks for G6PD deficiency and kidney problems.
